You know who else had some really great passing numbers in college(both efficiency ratings and total numbers)? Vince Young and Mike Vick.

Maybe it's just me...but I would expect a "great thrower" to complete more than 48% of his career passing attempts.
 
This just in, Tim Tebow still sucks as a pro quarterback. Check ESPN for all day discussion and analysis wondering why a QB with a terrible ability to complete passes, can't stick with a team.

Tebow would throw to a 5 star speedy WR two yards behind the line of scrimmage and he would run for 60 yards. Tebow was a great thrower if that is how you define "throwing".
 
Thank god we finally released him. Now to let go of rex and Mark and the franchise will be able to move forward.
 
Jets release a runner who can barely throw to make room for a younger runner who can barely throw.
If they would have kept Tebow he Sanchez and Geno would have been the most inaccurate trio I've seen on a roster since the Cowboys had Banks/Quincy/and that other guy.

I guess the guy who broke all kinds of NCAA and SEC passing records was a different number 15. Those 5 star receivers got quite a workout from 2 yards behind the line to run for almost 10,000 YAC.

I guess my definition of "rushing touchdowns" and "passing touchdowns" are skewed too. Or not. Since he had 57 of each.

This is all aside the point of I agree that he is not built for an NFL QB. He should switch positions to ensure his future. Pretending he wasn't an amazing college QB simply makes you look stupid.

Or, college football and professional football are completely different sports, and it's possible to have unprecedented success in one while also having unprecedented failure in the other. As far as I'm concerned, Tebow's not even the best college QB from the state of Florida to play professional sports in New York.

More like anyone who has followed both college and pro football for longer than, say, a few years. It's not exactly a new phenomenon.

Also, if we're being completely accurate, ND fans don't need to wait until their big name QBs hit the pros to see them flop. :smug:

Which is why I have yet to mention a single play he ran at the professional level. I have never said he's an NFL QB. Hell, when he was entering the draft I said he should be a FB.

I just don't understand the level of Tebow hate. The guy was a great player. Arguably one of the best to ever play. Are all of you CFB fans just that jealous that he didn't play for you?

He was a little more than a "shit bum passer".

You said he was a "great thrower" then cited his collegiate achievements to show this, even though it's common knowledge that being a great passer isn't a requisite for success at the college level.

Great college player, awful NFL QB, and the two are not mutually exclusive.
