Just because Kyle Boller hangs onto the ball for too long, doesn't mean our line is so bad, that we need to avoid drafting a franchise QB. Does Green Bay bench Aaron Rodgers because he gets sacked 50 times?

Yeah he was decent but it never lead to anything great for the team.

i am just saying they should test Vick out or try somebody and start from scratch because they need to open stuff up for Jackson and the head coach will be focusing on the D- more since thats his niche

I think when you are as bad as the Rams, you start from the inside and work your way out. I think there is more value in taking a defensive tackle early in the draft, and maybe looking to fill a need at QB in the 2nd or 3rd round. The Rams have to get a franchise player in this draft. Considering Bradford's injury history, I don't think they can afford to gamble like that. And I know this sounds nuts, but you have to move Steven Jackson. He's 27, and it would take at least 2-3 years before this team is contending for anything. Move him for a 1st round pick, free up some money and get ready for a run in 2012.

I think Bulger is a serviceable QB on a team where he only has to MANAGE the game at this point. On a team with no talent on it, no. Hes not that type of QB to lift a team.. just the type to scrape by with a team.

I will say this, Vick isn't a terrible way to go provided he can still run the way he did before jail (don't think we really learned that this past season, did we?) If so, there's the "chance" that he may win a game or two because of his legs. Yeah, I know he may lose some with his arm but hey, they suck anyway. It would be ideal to get a franchise qb but is there really one in this draft? If you take Suh, you might get a great DT but that's a slower, less lucrative route to rebuilding. Stands aren't filling up to see him take on double-teams unless the guys behind him start making plays and they start winning - which they'll have to score points in order to do. Besides, do they really want to shell out #1 pick money to a DT?

All that said, they can bring in Vick, draft Suh and still look for a franchise qb next year when they might presumably get him at a cheaper rate, depending on the new CBA. And definitely keep Jackson. They could become the #1 running team in the game, like Atlanta was when Vick was there, and that alone might be worth a few wins.

again ; yes I know this . But Cunningham wasnt that disciplined in the pocket as his second go around. I was just compare / contrasting a mobile QB who later stayed in the pocket for the majority. Vick may not be that great from here on in and he doesnt even have to be a starter, just a number 2 guy fighting it out in camp. he will get a job somewhere regardless of what he is or isnt because he isnt that old yet.


but like I said earlier- the Rams coach is a -defense guy- and that might lean him towards a Suh or that guy from Oklahoma. as opposed to drafting a QB.

Cunningham was more an in the pocket passer after he tore his knee up in 1991. 5 years before he was even in Minnesota. STFU.

Idiotic to do seeing as Cunningham was twice the passer Vick was when Cunningham was still a mobile QB. Cunningham was winning player of the year awards and in MVP talk and putting together one of the best all around seasons by a QB statistically while Vick was struggling to hit open WR's 15 yards down the field.

Cunningham could learn to pass from the pocket because he was a good passer to begin with. The stats bear this out. Vick was never a good passer in the NFL so your comparison is absurd.
