Nevin Shapiro wishes he could wear my shorts for one day. The New Jersey-born Napoleon dubbed himself "Little Luke" in a so-called investigative report by Yahoo Sports claiming all sorts of corrupt shit Shapiro committed while he was a booster of the University of Miami athletics program.

The claims even include hooking up football players with prostitutes and buying them bottles at Club Mansion. That punk could never be me.

First of all, I have never been a UM booster. I have never given a dime to the school. I have and always will support the players and the program out of civic pride, but I never violated any NCAA rules when I was the team's biggest fan in the 1980s. And I definitely would not have ever paid for a stripper to abort a baby allegedly fathered by a UM football player like Shapiro claims he did.

You can't be me just by reading a Dan Le Batard article in The Miami Herald from 21 years ago alleging I paid players for hits on the field. The NCAA investigated those accusations and found no wrongdoing on my part. This notion that I was paying players is false. It never happened.

If Nevin really wanted people to see him as "Little Luke," then he would have dedicated part of his life to helping kids in Miami's inner city neighborhoods get a college education. He certainly never started a youth athletic program that has been around for more than 30 years helping underprivileged parents in Liberty City mold their children.

It has never been about money for me. It's always been about community service. That's what being Uncle Luke is really about.

Shapiro is nothing more than a jilted groupie who fucked over a lot people. He is an opportunistic schemer who now wants to play the role of jailhouse snitch. His word isn't worth squat especially if Yahoo paid him for the exclusive. Nevin's mad because he couldn't get former players to invest in his Ponzi scheme or come to his rescue when his criminal enterprise was exposed.

I always had a feeling Shapiro was a sketchy motherfucker. I could see right through him two minutes into our first conversation. During one of our meetings, he was trying to get me to be a part of his sports agency because he knew I work with all the kids in the inner city playing football. He also complained that the former players didn't want to invest in his food business after he had bought jerseys and memorabilia to support the program.

He was all about himself. Shapiro wanted to use me like he was using the UM players and other celebrity athletes he courted. I knew to stay away from him. So did Randy Shannon, who warned all his assistants that if he caught them with Shapiro, he would fire them. Randy hated that beady-eyed defamer. Surprisingly, Shannon's name was conspicuously absent in Yahoo's breathtaking 11-month investigation.

The NCAA shouldn't even waste any gas money on this guy. But the investigators have to do their due diligence. In the meantime, every UM fan should send a letter to Shapiro's prison warden and insist he remain in general population.

There are posts on the main forum I go to that has shredded a lot of stories and its filled with inaccuracies in regards to dates, times, who was with who where, etc. Doesn't mean he's a complete liar or anything, its that his story, in total, doesn't hold up...we'll still get ass fucked regardless.

Luke is a simple man...innocent? Depends on what you mean. But he's a simple man with simple ideals. Did he give kids money? Yeah.

I went to school during this era and a lot of the people I went to school with or know from games are doing the debunking. Listen, I already knew there were a good number of players that had their hand out during that era...hell, Tyrone Moss, I always thought was notorious for accepting handouts...dude was riding around in a new Escalade, tricked out and customized for HIM through all of the years I was there. I've seen numerous 'Cane players have extremely high dollar amounts on their 'Cane Card balance. I've seen a bunch my self. But, when a certain players ex gf, who I know, also comes out and says "No, this player wasn't at Cameo after the FSU, he was with me and his cousin." I believe that too. OR, if someone says a picture is from the Fiesta Bowl, but its the wrong color jerseys from the game and its clearly at the Orange Bowl...I believe that too. Or, during the Shannon Error (which I was around A LOT considering I was covering the team) that Shannon hated this guys guts and he was run off the sidelines countless times - he would sneak down to the sideline with the press during the fourth quarter), and that several players were told to GTFO or leave early and coaches were kicked out when it had come to light that Shapiro had involvement with them (Robert Marve, Clint Hurtt, amongst others) or we stopped recruiting them (Jeff Godfrey, Bryce Brown - Arthur left as well, coinciding was the fact that he kidnapped his gf at the time - Orson Charles, etc.)

Even with some of the debunking, its still damning though.

However, its a lot of generalities and what I'd consider "circumstantial"...there is a lot of hard evidence too (checks to Clint Hurtt, Tyrone Moss coming out, etc.) and a lot of things I believe because they sound like how it'd go down, considering I know this guy is a major mark.

We'll get our shit pushed in, but maybe, just maybe its with the 12 incher and they spare us from the 20 incher.

Golden says he didn't know this shit storm was coming. I'll take him at face value. I really like the guy and hope he stays, but I wouldn't blame him for leaving sooner rather than later.

However, the NCAA has been investigating for months and the school has given them carte blanche. I just can't believe he was clueless. You gotta realize, there were some steps taken to get away from this guy, but he had ins with players and coaches that could have skated around those who were already keen to his no-good self. If we get any kind of relief from the NCAA, its going to be because we were at least somewhat open to the NCAA.

In recent years, it was Randy Phillips as a player. It was Clint Hurtt as a coach along with the equipment manager Sean Allen. He was also the only booster giving money to the program at the time so Donna was there with her hand out as was our AD, Kirby Hocutt, which, at that point, gave him unlimited access to the program (its something normal boosters get). Randy Shannon hated the guy, but Randy being Randy is one of those guys that once he leaves the premises he was clueless (ignorance is not an excuse).

Just because today, there are some things coming out that ruffles up some of his story, doesn't mean that its any less damning...this is some damning journalism and the hammer is coming.

Now, whether its the ball peen to the dome or a claw hammer to the chest or a sledgehammer to the face (whatever happened to Sledge from MM, btw?), the hammer is coming.

Georgia TE Orson Charles cleared by NCAA on Miami matter

ATHENS – Neither Georgia nor tight end Orson Charles will face any NCAA repercussions with regard to Charles’ inclusion in the Yahoo! Sports report on a rogue Miami booster he is alleged to have met during recruiting.

So says UGA in a brief statement it released about the situation late Wednesday morning.

“The University of Georgia is aware of the article mentioning Orson Charles and has been in communication with the NCAA. There are no issues with UGA or eligibility issues with Orson Charles. UGA will have no further comment regarding this matter.”
