I heard alot of people hate the analog hitting but couldn't "you" turn it off/on in settings? .
are u saying they were talking about the game at best buy? if so, thats not true. they had timing, zone, pure analog, and pure analog zone
timing - is timed hitting
zone - Buttons plus LS
Pure analog - RS only
Pure analog zone - RS and LS
i used zone when i played. There are some options locked out but they were for motion controls. I was able to adjust all settings and sliders
I played Det at Cle (verlander v jimenez). I played AS with Pure Analog pitching and Zone hitting, Button Fielding. Only lowered the Pitch speed slider.
the game played like anyone would expect. there wont be any surprises there. Pitching dominated. My timing was shit. Playing Verlander didnt help.
the player models looked improved to me. Players looked more detailed and more life like. The faces got a real bump in detail. On the field they looked much better as they moved around. They seemed to have alot more fluidity and again, looked very life like...or natural in their movement
Fielding
I got to see a few double plays in action. The animations moved much better and the ball really seemed to pop out of the glove and fire across the diamond. I also got to see some near the wall action which also looked great...both of these area (in the limited time i saw them) looked very realistic . The throw meter circle they used last year was still the same. and the ability to make errant throws was also there. The biggest thing i noticed was how the ball seemed to fire out of the fielders glove with more zip. Fielding looked real good
Pitching
i struggled to pin point my pitches. But still managed to be in complete control. i did have a few walks and could have had more, but always seemed to work my way out of trouble. Even still, for as off as i was, i felt the tigers should have had way more offense.
One real nice thing i loved was after each pitch they had the K zone in the lower left or right corner and it showed where the location was, the pitcher release good/bad, the hitter timing and zone....every year prior we had to click the RS between pitches to see this info....not this year
Hitting
not much to say as i only mustered 1 hit and had 10K. i cant judge the hitting cause i was so off. sorry
Commentary - i tuned them out pretty quickly. I could hear some new tid bits...talking about the young players build the core for the future of the indians..there comments were spot on. But most of the commentary was the same old same old.
Seemed like they included more real time stuff into the presentation. Seemed well balanced although i was hitting the x button to advance and play the game.
I was able to access the franchise mode...all modes really. I just didnt mess with them due to the time i had to play. I dont think online was available...i didnt even see the option.
the game is basically the same game as last year with alot of polish. Alot of detail to the players and stadiums. I was really impressed with how the players moved on the field...that really stood out to me
of course i doubt my impressions are a surprise since its alot of what we already know.
