thats my issue with analog. it was the same last year....the sticks really make it tough to be accurate. i think i might just stick with meter

With the pulse pitching, it feels like you have to develop a natural instinct to time it. When I sit there and stare at it, I just fall into a trance and never hit my mark. So if I'm not going to hit my mark, might as well just mash X to get through it, just hoping to randomly "get a good bounce". I'll stick with the pulse pitching for now because it's not terrible and I can see the potential in being able to use it properly.

I think being a guitar player helps me. I can tap to the beat. In fact, i think it is easier as the speed increases

I like analog pitching just fine, but analog fielding and hitting can die in a fire. I roll analog pitching + zone hitting + buttons.

Analog pitching is the only one of the three "TOTAL ANALOG" modes that makes any sense, and is intuitive based on the action you are performing.

I agree that is they way to go...I need to practice more on it. Sometimes I just want to throw a strike and I just fucking cant!

Yeah it's really hit or miss. Sometimes I just aim at the middle of the strike zone and try to just let it move naturally away from the zone to induce whiffs. If you try to get too fine with the corners you'll end up throwing a ton of balls.

I think I'm just going to stick with analog-everything again this year. Lack of velocity control for Pulse Pitching is a turnoff.

What is pointing to that? I played one game last night and it was smooth as silk. Others are saying the same thing. The connection issues are much improved this year.

I just had my first game. I did a quick connect and it was Dodgers(me) versus Nationals. I won 4-0 with 8 hits and one error. I hit two doubles and one triple. No home runs, but then I was the Dodgers. Kershaw was my starter and he only gave up one hit. I struck the other guy out 23 times and walked him twice. He struck me out 7 times and committed 3 errors.

I like the pulse pitching better than the meter, but then I didn't really have to pitch under pressure much. I could really notice when Kershaw was getting tired. Overrall, I'm happy with this game. Lag was not an issue.

It's funny, you read some online impressions and some people complain, some don't. I guess if you ignore the ones not complaining you would think everyone is.

Nobody here is really having an issue either.



You go to the Show forums and the complaints, I mean yeah? There's a few threads with like...5 replies. Wonder where all the other MLB online players are? Probably enjoying the game and not bitching online?

I don't doubt some people are having issues and such, but to say it's the same as last year couldn't be more wrong. But don't listen to us, we've only played the game...



Do the EA NHL forums not have people complaining about disco's and freeze issues starting from NHL 08?

Do the Madden forums not have people complaining about lag and connection fuck ups?

Online play is better than last year for sure. Still a bit brutal with the hitting but it's workable.

I hit two home runs off of Pete in our game (Rays v Jays), but only had 4 hits total and struck out a ton. Matt Moore is pretty unhittable though and I took a lot of bad swings.

I think that if people start to swing at less junk and wait for a good pitch to hit, the offense will come around. The two games I've played have been 2-1 and 4-3. It's not ideal but there are a lot of balls put in play at least.

Sorry. I'll quit my job to free up more time to increase my sample size for you. Or you could just stop ignoring the people who say that online has improved, too. I've been playing MLB on PS3 since 08. All I need is one game to know that this game isn't all choppy and laggy like previous years. I would have seen the lag in one game in MLB 08-MLB 11.

I guess this really depends on the people you play, their connections, combined with the servers. So it can be a pretty random inconsistent experience for gamers, there isn't going to be a definitive answer.

My friends and I played last year a ton, and we were probably the very few who didnt really have any lag. Games were really smooth. I know it was against the norm of majority of users.

I played 2 games last night with one of my friends I usually play online and they were easily the two worst lagged filled games I've ever played in the show.

There isn't one definitive answer.

That;s the problem. They can't deliver a consistent online experience even after 4 years of building the game. NHL and FIFA are both super smooth. The only time I run into issues is playing some guy in FIFA who is in some shitty costa rican internet.

i agree. the game has never been laggy for me at all. but the latency thing is usually there but worse with some guy rather than others. But very minimal lag.
