No shit, it truly is awful.

Anyway, this game pisses me off to no end. There is nothing you can do on defense to stop the CPU. No matter who I play, the G's torch me for 30+ by just casually driving the lane at will and either scoring or drawing a foul. You can double, but then they find the open man, and in this game, if ANYBODY is remotely open, that jumper is dropping.

And on the rare occasion that they miss? No problem, the cpu hauls down offensive boards with ease. I use Minnesota, the top rebounding team in the NBA last season, with Kevin Love (99 DEF Reb, 99 OFF Reb ratings) on the roster, and I traded for Brooke Lopez, and I still get out rebounded every single game, largely due to 15-20 offensive rebounds by the cpu. The CPU throws down putback dunks at least five times per game, which leads to that annoying Kevin Harlan & Clark Kellog audio clip where they laugh like retards and giggle like schoolgirls. On 12 minute quarters, Love (again, 99/99 ratings) is averaging 5.0 rpg. Do ratings even matter? I'm convinced they don't.

The plays are broken. Pick & Rolls do not work. I spent an hour changing playbooks trying to find simple P&R plays where the pick man flashes to the hoop. When you run them, the pick man just stands there like a retard while your PG gets double teamed.

In short, fuck this game.

What difficulty and sliders are you using? I'm not having any issues like that. My main issue seems to be a general lack of offensive rebounds for either team.

My biggest issue with the game is the controls suck. At times controlling a guy can feel like trying to drive a car that the power steering has gone out on. NBA Live 95 had smoother controls for the player.

Every year it's the same shit. If there is one thing I hate it lack of response. Every fucking thing you do in this game has a delay, there is nothing fluid about the gameplay.




I get double teamed so I pass the ball to a teamate under the hoop wide open, that shit should be an easy layin instead it takes 1.5 seconds for the fucking game to recognize I'm shooting the ball and allows the defense to recover and do some fucking flying lebron james type block with [insert any player in the game]

The other thing I love is when I try to make up for the lack of responsiveness, I know there is only a small window to get this shot off once I receive it under the bucket so when I catch it I quickly push up on the joystick immediately NOTHING HAPPENS so I try one more time BUT WAIT this time I pump fake. Now the entire defense has recovered and your FUCKED if you think about going up in traffic MINE AS WELL KICK IT OUT AND RESET.



It really makes it hard to enjoy this game, I just want to play basketball. If I run a pick and roll I want the motherfucker to roll. In MyPlayer I'll set a perfect screen for my PG and he won't take the shot or drive he just stands there pounding the ball OR BETTER YET I'll set a pick and instead of letting me roll to the basket the CPU just passes me the ball as I'm setting the pick.

The responsiveness of the controls for this game make it ridiculously fucking stupid.

There are easily 3-4 times a game where I'll get cheap backcourt violations or step out of bounds because of the shittyness of the response.

Wasn't there a feature on the old 2k basketball games that let you select a button to pass to the player closest to the basket?

And I think there was also a button to select the player on defense closest to the basket. With the stick passing so sensitive, this feature would be so clutch on the fast break offense and defense.

On 360 it was RB, RT. If you know you're team though and what positions they are playing, it really doesn't matter. It's easy to icon change to that player.

I know you can still do it quick, but its still two combos (pulling icons up then selecting face button) opposed to one from back in the day. Directional passing is good, but it can ruin some fastbreaks once in awhile.

Really wish there was a bounce pass button option that just doesn't occur randomly.

The problem I found with the shoot button instead of the joystick is the "game" chooses what type of shot you going to take and sometimes it picks the worst possible option ESPECIALLY when your in the paint.

Like you'll be on the right side wide open where an easy layup off the backboard should suffice but instead it makes you do a reverse layup right into the defenses arm OR into the bottom of the backboard.

Nothing screams authentic NBA ball like having the base play of nearly all NBA offenses, and offenses everywhere not working!
