That is what is wrong with the media and fans... LeBron has scored huge before, he has had a lot of high scoring games with the Cavs because he HAD to, but he isn't interested in being a scorer. It may be ridiculous, because we all know he CAN score, but he doesn't want to be that 40 point a night guy, he prides himself on his playmaking ability and over everything else loves playing defense the most. I think when he decided to come to Miami he honestly believed that he would be the 2nd/3rd scoring option every night, and that's what he wanted, to go somewhere where he didn't have to score 35+ every night for his team to win. BUT, everybody still expects LeBron to have incredible offensive games every single night, funny, because when he went to Miami EVERYBODY made fun of the fact he would be Robin to Wade's Batman... so what is it? Is he second fiddle or is he supposed to be the lead dog?

He is the most talented player in the league. You honestly sound like a politician right now. Just admit LeBron is not playing well in the finals. No way he believed he'd be third scoring option. You are right in that he didn't want to be that guy every night, which is why a lot of people hated his decision.

Your argument would make sense if LeBron didn't lead the Heat in scoring during the regular season. No one expects him to put up 40 points every night. However he is expected not to look like a lost puppy in the 4th quarter and to step up in big games. The he loves playing defense would be nice too if he was actually guarding someone who was a top player.

Don't act like LeBron can put up 30 points at any time in this series because if he could have, he would. Right now he is playing timid, he isn't the guy busting his ass and willing his team forward. He is obviously not the lead guy. It sad because he has the talent to be the best of all time but he doesn't have the inner drive.

It's even sadder when we've seen flashes of his potential before. Like when he murdered the Pistons a few years ago, some of the Bulls and Celtics series this year...

But for every series where he's gone off there's another series where he's disappeared.

I'm not making excuses for LeBron, I'm stating what he has previously stated as well as other people in his camp, normally, he can put up points whenever he wants, when he drives he is dam near unstoppable, but he doesn't look to penetrate enough and when he does he dishes out to shooters for assists. Now that he has the help he expects them all to do something.

such a copout/bullshit excuse.. lebron knows he is the most talented player on the court. no one besides Wade get to the basket even close to as well as he does.. he is passive for no apparent reason. playing facilitator/magic 2.0 is great and all when the game isn't on the line. at that point, he needs to be shooting free throws or dunking every single possession.

I meant in the finals which is what this thread is about. He also scored a lot more in the Conference Finals averaging 25 a game. Clearly he cannot put up points when ever he wants because he isn't doing it. Also when you are the best player on your team, you don't look at Mario Chalmers and Mike Miller to start knocking down big shots. Wade is doing his part, he is just waiting for LeBron to start doing this. It is those two who should be combining for at the very least 50 points tonight.
