I didn't follow Cleveland or BB all that closely. But I've always heard he was too streaky and passive in big games.

Sometimes stats don't tell the entire story. 28 pts sounds good. But I go back to the Moncrief/Marques Johnson years of the Bucks. Both would average over 20 points a game, but Johnson would get 15 of those points in the first half. Moncrief would get 15 of his 20 in the second half, at the end of games, when the entire defense knew he would be the one to get the ball. I loved Marques Johnson, but I always thought much more of Sidney Moncrief. Now it's just my personal opinion, but I think James is more Marques Johnson and Wade is more Sidney Moncrief.

It is widely known that James carried the Cavs in the playoffs. A big moment for him was when he scored 25 striaight points in the 4th against Detriot in 2007. James isn't a stat compiler. He's just struggling right now and that is it. In game 6 if he goes out and scored 30+ and they win people won't even be questioning him, because that is how people are.

You can keep saying, oh they realized he wasn't being aggressive, and oh he's dealing with something. The bottom line is he hasn't been a factor on offense in the fourth qtr all series, and the last two game hasn't been a factor on D down the stretch either. I dunno where all that fourth qtr magic he had vs the Bulls went, maybe he used it all up or something, but it's nowhere to be seen vs Dallas. Not knocking the rest of his game, or the rest of his playoffs, but in THIS series he just has not been a superstar in the 4th qtr

I wasn't trying to call him a stats chaser. I just don't think he has a more passive personality, and maybe lacks the confidence in those key moments. I don't think he's as aggressive or consistent as an MJ.

Not trying to pick a fight. You know what my opinion is, and that I recognize I'm not as NBA knowledgeable you and others, and I'll just step out and just lurk in this thread and leave it to the guys that really follow the NBA.

Jack Sikma was with the Bucks for a while, I like Jack Sikma (Liked Bob Lanier much more though). Sikma had a weird but deadly outside shot.

I'm not arguing against his play in the 4th, because its obvious that regardless of the purpose he simply isn't perfoming. I agree.

Why does he have to be MJ? That's part of the problem with all of this. Because of MJ we think the best player in the league HAS to have 6+ championships, 6+ MVPs, average 30+ppg and make the game winning shot in the finals.

That's also ignoring the fact that he clearly took himself out of the MJ conversation when he went to Miami and joined up with Wade and Bosh. He basically put himself in the "Magic (at best) category"

You said James gets a bad rap cause he's being compared to MJ. That's not what I'm doing. I used to be a diehard NBA follower (and MLB) now I'm just a casual at best fan. But my opinion was and what I have heard is that James is inconsistent with his shot and becomes passive. Almost afraid of failing in the big moments. I think that's what we are seeing in these finals. I was surprised to hear he's still only 25 and has a lot of NBA left in him. There's still a game or more in this finals for him to turn those 4th QTR's around. Just giving my opinion. And not smirking or chuckling while doing it.

Dallas had Jason Kidd on him down the stretch. If your the best player in the league, and your not scoring on 38 year old Jason Kidd, i'd call that a pretty big issue.

:smh: @ this.. Dallas routinely threw Kidd on Kobe Bryant too and caused him fits. Jason Kidd is still a crafty ass defender.
