Injuries:

After receiving the Eastern Conference player of the week award last week, Kevin Garnett has suffered a broken wrist injury that will more than likely require surgery. He will be out for 4-6 weeks. This injury comes at a very inopportune time for the Celtics as they are currently riding the crest of a 9 game winning streak and rising fast in the East.

Granger Likely To Make Return Tonight As Pacers Host Golden State

It's been a grueling past month for the Indiana Pacers as their star player, Danny Granger suffered a strained achilles tendon injury in Orlando on the 21st of November.

It is now the 17th of December and Granger has been given the green light to return to the court to help his team get back into the thick of the Eastern Conference playoff race.

"Watching from the bench in street clothes, I've seen our guys play hard and scrap with some of the league's best for more than three quarters of a game before eventually losing," explains Granger. "I think we're an excellent basketball team for 36 minutes. It's unfortunate games are 48 minutes long. A few minutes here and there at the end of games, and we're looking at a close to .500 record."

Many Pacer fans agree their 8-16 record would be better if Granger was there to help guide them through late-game situations.

Tonight when the Warriors come to town, the Pacers will get to test their theory.

The Pacers went a dismal 3-10 in Granger's absence.​

It was so nice having him on the floor. Someone who can knock down J's consistently for once.

He played 28 and the other starting guys played about 24-26. I blew them out so badly the subs got major play that game. Rush and Daniels also played close to 26 minutes a game, as did Jack and Hibbert. lol. And thanks.

I'm hoping for great things. Blowing out the Warriors should be a sign of good things to come. I've surrounded him with solid guys and the team feels a lot better to play with than what I was given on opening night.

He's Back!

You can tell the chemistry on the Pacers team is so much better this season.

There's no jealousy or any cliques on the team. There's no finger pointing. You don't walk in the locker room and feel like there's any tension between players as in years past.

The chemistry should get even better now that Danny Granger is back. They've still got quite a bit of work to do if they expect to make the playoffs.

Granger looked somehat rusty early on in his first regular-season game since November.

At the same time, though, you felt his presence on the court. Guys followed his lead by constantly moving without the ball. Chris Kaman fed Granger on a nice backdoor play shortly after he checked back into the game in the second quarter. That's when Granger picked up right where he left off before the injury.

"I felt pretty good for not playing since April," Dunleavy said. "Once I got in and got a rhythm, especially in the second half, I felt more back to normal."

Granger, who lived in the gym as he worked his way back from his strained achilles problem, said it was felt great to be back on the floor despite being restricted to 30 minutes on the night, mostly due to the fact that the Pacers layed down a beating on the Warriors. He finished with 30 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists on the night.

O'Brien said it best when talking about Granger.

"If Danny Granger isn't an All Star, then I don't know what an All Star looks like," O' Brien said.

"There's no way he doesn't make it," point guard T.J. Ford said.​

I haven't hit January just yet. I'm in mid december. Once January hit's I'll be able to tell. Missing a whole month with that strained achilles will probably keep me out of the running until later in the season assuming he can stay healthy and keep putting up the numbers he is doing so. I'd be happy with an all-star selection and being named to the 3rd team with him.
