Late Friday night, after another loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, the 7-17 Washington Wizards decided another change was needed.

The Wizards traded forward/center Andray Blatche and forward Dominic McGuire to the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for combo forwards Hakim Warrick and Darius Miles.

Blatche, who was averaging 8.9 points per game, 4.6 rebounds per game, and 1.6 blocks per game for the Wizards, will provide Memphis with another big body. He will most likely be battling with rookie forward Darrell Arthur for the starting power forward job.

Hakim Warrick was averaging 9.3 points per game and 4.4 rebounds per game for the Grizzlies, but he will be forced to play the sixth man role at best for the Wizards with star forwards Caron Butler and Lamar Odom playing in front of him. Warrick, at 6'9'' and 215 pounds won't be able to play center for Washington like Blatche did, but Warrick's shooting touch is much more developed than Blatche's ever was.

Darius Miles will also most likely see significant time for the Wizards, coming in when Caron Butler needs a rest. Miles, who was signed early in the season by the Grizzlies, was averaging 3.6 points per game and 2.0 rebounds per game before being traded. The 27-year-old Miles will be looked at as an energy player more than anything else, being able to swing the momentum with a thunderous dunk or big defensive play.

Warrick and Miles with be available to play for the Wizards on Sunday against the 19-6 Dallas Mavericks, but it is unknown how much playing time they will receive.​

Tonight against the 19-6 Dallas Mavericks, forwards Hakim Warrick and Darius Miles will be suiting up as Washington Wizards for the first time.

Both will be coming off of the bench, with the Wizards starting their normal starters. However, Hakim Warrick is expected to receive a good amount of minutes filling in for Lamar Odom and Caron Butler when they need a rest.

"I'm excited," said Odom when speaking about the addition of Warrick. "It'll be nice to have someone to take over for me. I haven't seen the Washington bench too much this year," joked Odom.

Miles, on the other hand, most likely won't see the court too often, at least not in the opener.

"I haven't been too good with the new playbook," said Miles. "In a couple days I'll be good though, don't worry."
