I cant believe I cant wait to see a pre season game

I'm going to the Bucs vs Chiefs preseason game. It's gonna be an exciting one for the young Bucs as there is so much uncertainty surrounding so many positions. I got tickets for 7 dollars a seat that I'm pretty happy about. Some things I'll be looking forward to:

• KC just signed Sabby fucking Piscitelli... that little bitch. Several drunk boos will be coming from this guy and I am sure he will allow at least two touchdown passes for Rudy Carpenter.
  
• How does MLB Mason Foster look leading the Bucs defense? Was Ruud really the football genius bucs players lobbied to keep? Does Tyron Mckenizie have a shot?
  
• How will the wide receiver position battles play out? I can honestly say after Williams and Benn, nobody is safe.
  
• Is Blount the real deal? Let's see a few good runs out of the 20 snaps he is on the field for. Where is the depth after him? Can Kreg Lumpkin step in and be a 3rd down back?
  
• Where. is. the. speed?

Nice. Im going to the Bucs skins preseason game then our 1st game vs Detroit.

Redzone seats six rows up... poor guy who sold them to me was forced to pay $84 a piece since he was a season ticket holder. Cut your losses I guess.

Nice. Yeah, my family's season tickets are in the endzone 26 rows up and about the same price. That's a hell of a fucking deal you got even if it's just a preseason game.

Yep, every season ticket holder has to do that. But no way should pre-season tickets be anywhere near the value of regular season tickets.

Still, he can recoup that loss by selling the biggest "rivalry" game. My father did that for the Redskins/Cowboys game each year, and it almost paid for his season tickets on years when the Redskins were actually good.

I can't beleive how much a difference 5 yards makes. I hate the new kickoff rule. they might as well just do away with it altogether. I didn't realize how big of a deal that rule change was until i watched the Packers opener today.

the nfl almost always fucks up when it tries to put in rules that protect its players. its a violent game. guys are going to get hurt. you understand this from the moment you decide to play it. the NFL caves to media pressure way too much.

Could you elaborate more? Looks like I won't be able to watch any of the games unless it's on my phone and I'm not doing that. Is it almost like when teams do take it out they struggle to even make the 20, or just way too many touchbacks?

it's just super wierd seeing guys take it out the back of the endzone, and the returner almost always catches it like 2 steps away from auto-touchback land. i only give a shit about the packers so ive only watched a few minutes of any games besides their opener today. that being said. my gut instinct is always to be like "what the fuck are you doing taking it out of the end zone?" its pre season, so i guess these are roster bubble types trying to show off their skills. but in the regular season its going to be a ton of touchbacks, and with the kickers with stronger legs, half the returners wont even get a chance to field it if they want to.

the kickoff teams too, dont really seem to know how to handle it. these guys arent getting as much speed. thats why GB had its kickoff team lining up in 3 points stances. Rich Gannon was covering the game and he was talking about how he interviewed Shawn Slocum the GB ST coordinator and he's saying he thinks it helps his guys generate more speed. It seemed like guys on both teams didn't really know the right angles to take coming down the field, tackling was super sloppy.

Even though I don't like the rule, they should have at least waited till next year to implement it, and given teams a full offseason to learn how to adjust to it. It's just 5 yards, but it has drastically altered kickoffs, and not in a good way.

yeah, thats the game i watched today. Colt McCoy really did look pretty good. I wasnt sure if it was him playing well, or if it was just the packers playing bad, but the dude seems to be playing with a winners swagger. i loved not just how he played, but how he carried himself. there was fire in his eyes. i was really impressed.

its really obvious the browns have significantly better coaching this season than they did the last.

Yes they do.....I really think Pat Shurmur is going to be a good coach in the league (though I do worry if he can handle being HC and the offensive coordinator.) It also helps that he has Dick Jauron running the defense, and Ray Rhodes as an assistant.

Brett Favre has been attending Packers practices.... or is he?

 

A man impersonating Brett Favre(notes) has fooled some of Green Bay's more gullible football fans in recent days.
The unidentified gentleman, who bears a slight resemblance to the Packers legend, has been seen in the stands at team practices posing for pictures with fans. (See picture at right.) One restaurant owner told The Green Bay Press-Gazette that the same man came in recently and signed autographs in Favre's name.

Favre's travel coordinator says the Packers legend hasn't been in Green Bay since the Minnesota Vikings played there last season.

Besides the obvious "Favre has a travel coordinator?" question, the most pressing issue is this: How can Green Bay be considered the greatest football town in America if its fans are fooled by a guy who kinda, sorta looks like Brett Favre? The guy in the picture above doesn't even have any stubble! And there's no perpetual world-weary "woe is me" look on his face. Was that guy even having any fun or acting like a little kid out there?

Like Favre would show up at a random bar or sit in the stands at training camp wearing his own jersey. Was he in Crocs? Taking random cell phone pictures? Was ESPN's Rachel Nichols shadowing him? For that matter, don't the fans know that Favre usually doesn't show up until the fourth week of training camp anyway?

First, in an interview with local reporters, Chicago Bears receiver Roy Williams questioned whether he actually dropped a much-discussed pass in the first quarter of Monday's preseason game against the New York Giants. (Earlier: Williams has been dropping passes for years.)

Roy Williams: "The drops? What happened? Who had a drop? I had a drop? I didn't have a drop, but if you want to count it you can.
