Apparently you guys got another transfer too. My one friend Ryan Weiss, who just transferred here from Coastal Carolina, is transferring out there on apparently a football scholly. Just saw on his Facebook.

Here's my beef with the players' union on the labor issue.

The players want more money. I get that. I understand. But they are not asking for an increase to the vet minimum. They just want the profit margin to adjust the new salary cap. Presumably this means make it higher.

If you're, say, a backup guard making the vet minimum of $350k or whatever the number is, are you willing to risk via lockout, decertification, etc, a precious portion of what will likely be a short career so that the rich can get richer? Because that extra money won't be going in your pocket, it will be going into the pocket of the superstars, guys who should be set for life anyway.

They're fighting for a lot of things that make sense, but above all else, the argument should be centered around 3 things:

1. Better benefits for the players of yore.
2. More roster spots and PS spots so more jobs.
3. A higher Cap with a higher increase for the vet minimum for all, not just FAs.

If I'm missing something, feel free to point it out to me. I'm actually for the players getting what the can in this, but the facts of them not fighting for the guys who really need to be fought for to this juncture disturbs me.

There's a rumor going around that a major D1 program is about to get hammered for NCAA violations in the next couple of weeks, and that its not one you would expect... it comes from the very same Buckeye insider that broke the tatgate story.

Most common names being tossed around are ND and PSU... (Note: insider didnt reveal exact school)

Pro Football Focus rates the Titans as the worst run-blocking team in the NFL for the 2010 season.
Chris Johnson led the league with 111 yards on negative plays while his per-carry average dropped from 5.6 and 4.9 his first two years to 4.3 in 2010. Poor run-blocking and little respect for the Titans' passing game are the primary culprits. Adrian Peterson finished third in fantasy points last year after the Vikes closed out 2009 as PFF's worst run-blocking unit. Don't let the Titans' O-Line scare you off a special talent like Johnson.

I think it's interesting how the best backs in the league have the worst offensive lines.

MOUNT LAUREL, N.J. -- NFL Films president Steve Sabol will undergo radiation and chemotherapy treatment after doctors discovered a tumor on the left side of his brain.

NFL Films released a statement Friday about the 68-year-old Sabol, who was hospitalized March 5 in Kansas City, Mo., after suffering a seizure.

"[Sabol] will begin treatments soon," the company's statement said. "Steve is in good spirits and is deeply appreciative of everyone's good wishes."

Sabol has worked with NFL Films since 1964. His father, Ed, was elected on the day before last month's Super Bowl to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.

Damn.

Blount tops league in elusiveness

Tampa Bay's LeGarrette Blount has only 201 NFL carries, but he already has been declared the NFL’s most elusive running back.

That’s according to this survey of running backs around the league, which factors in things like missed tackles and yards after first contact. Those numbers play to Blount’s strength, which is raw power.

Blount averaged 3.7 yards after contact and, in this formula, his elusive rating was significantly higher than any other back in the league. He was more than 30 points ahead of Fred Jackson and way ahead of guys like Marshawn Lynch and Adrian Peterson, who also were in the top 10.
