Falling as teams are trying to get upfield is one thing.

Flopping after the teams have lined up for the next play is pretty fucking blatant. Especially when two guys do it.

Right after the Sunday night game, Falcons head coach Mike Smith said that he felt the Robinson hit was clean, and said "that's the way we teach it." On Monday, Smith said that his opinion hadn't changed. And that concept adds a different level of complexity to the player safety argument. If Smith meant to say that the Falcons are teaching helmet-to-helmet contact, he can expect his own call from the league, but I doubt that anyone smart enough to be an NFL head coach would be dumb enough to say that he and his staff teach and endorse hits that put opponents in the line of fire.

I thought the Packers faced enough horrible injuries last year. Tramon was out last week, now Nick Collins is out for the season. Packers can't catch a break when it comes to injuries. Thankfully this team is extremely deep, but we're not exactly deep at the FS position. Interested to see if Peprah gets the start or if they stick in the UDFA M.D. Jennings.

All the love is annoying. They beat a Bucs team that let the Vikings get a 17 point half-time lead, and beat arguably the worst team in the league in the Chiefs...without their two best players. They are still the 3rd best team in the division behind the Packers and Bears and are not much better than the Vikings. I'll be surprised if they get 8 wins.

Oakland against the Jets is going to go a long way in determining the perception of the Raiders, and possibly how much success they have... I'm not holding my breath, but I hope the silver and black can make something happen.

Buffalo against New England is going to do the same for Fitz and the Bills. Ryan Fitzpatrick's first real test, I guess you could say, accept that New England hasn't really been playing as well against the pass as one might assume they would based on the fact that they're New England.

It's hard to gauge success in this league when the teams you expect a lot from are performing on one side of the ball but not the other. Though, despite the yardage allowed, New England's did a good job capitalizing on plays against San Diego - making interceptions and what have you.

Former No. 4 overall pick Aaron Curry has lost his starting strong-side linebacker job to rookie K.J. Wright.

Athletic and productive at Wake Forest, Curry was highly regarded in the scouting community entering the 2009 draft. He's failed to make impact plays in Seattle, though, managing just 5.5 sacks and one interception as a 30-game starter the past two seasons. He had been removed from nickel packages after a dropped interception and blown coverage last week. The Tacoma News Tribune suggests Curry could go on the trade block. With no guaranteed money left on his contract, Curry can be released in 2012.
