You also have to take in to account that the team does not only represent hockey but also an entire french culture revolving around Quebec...The days of expecting a Cup are long gone though Mini, and I think you Canadiens fans need to come to terms with it. Sure, if you do the math, Montreal has won a cup every 4 years, but they haven't won a cup, or even played in a final since 1993. 16 years without as much as a glimpse of the finals. The days of "expecting a cup every year" are old, because this isn't the Montreal Canadiens of old. I'd even go as far to say, you could almost split the habs into two different teams. The teams of then, the ones with all the cup runs and 24 cups. And the team from 1993 to now, with one cup and a lot of hurt.
I just find it silly is all that you guys expect a cup every year when your team hasn't made it in 16 years. Rabib fans or not.
I know the glory days are long gone... but MTL fans will likely never accept anything less than EXCELLENCE.
