Looks like the avalanche's house cleaning has begun. Eric Lecroix a hockey ops guy and coach Sacco so far are gone. People are assuming more to come.
The front office has really been an issue there these last couple seasons. Some questionable trades, the handling of O'Reilly and even making Landeskog the captain have capped it off.

Here is my pet peeve about GM's and the draft lottery.
First, I hate GM's who every year get the first pick and make the same comment. "[enter #1 prospects name] is a very good player, but we have a few names, and have a lot of work to do."
No, you fucking don't. Stop acting as if you are not going to take him. There is nothing to keep secret about, you pick first.
And then second, and just as bad, are those GM's who pick 5th or so, and always come back with "We had [enter player] ranked high, and if we would have had the first pick, we would have picked him in that spot."
Burke said this last year when the Leafs drafted Morgan Rielly. Seriously Burky, you would pass on Yakupov, Ryan Murray, Galchenyuk and Griffin Reinhart to take Morgan Rielly? That is just a save face statement, we all know it.
I'll be doing my own draft coming up soon as well. I'll do one team a day so as to give time for the playoffs to run its course.

Ottawa trades the rights to Sergi Gonchar to Dallas for a conditional 6th round pick, providing he signs there.
Rumor is that Gonchar is going to go back to the KHL unless he gets a 2 year deal. Dallas is willing to offer him that deal. Dallas has a ton of cap space with $18m left, and has 18 players signed for next season. So they are in good shape and could offer him the contract. Don't think it will be worth over $5m, but who knows with this market the way it is.

I certainly wouldn't have given him that much, but the FA market has really been screwed up for the past five years with the contract loopholes taking talent off the market.

Flyers acquired the negotiating rights for Mark Streit tonight...I'm not a fan of the move at the moment, he's already 35 and is looking for a 4 year deal. The Flyers are definitely going to have to make a lot of moves this summer, they have WAAAAAY too much money tied up in the defense at the moment.
