So second game in and he is clutch? That happened quick.

He was a clutch player in juniors and is the type of player you want on the ice when the game is on the line because he has sick hands, an insane shot, and just the right frame of mind. Can't tell you how many Yakupov game tying or winning or OT goals I've seen just last year alone.

The hate for the celebration has been silly. Globe and Mail and National Post had an article on it. Scoring with 4 seconds left is and incredible rush, I wish more players let their emotions hang out like that

To be honest, I feel like the media saw the celebration and immediately pulled out the 'honour' template. Then, after doing the rounds and realizing that everyone in Edmonton was gushing about the kid, all the former players in the world loved it, and even the LA Kings barely made a squeak about it, that they didn't have a story but went ahead with it anyway because sports media loves generic stuff.

Ouch the Flyers take another hit to their roster: Meszaros out for a month.

I dunno does this put the Flyers into position to trade for PK Subban?

Possible, especially since Meszaros' contract should be up after this season if I'm not mistaken.

Yup, Pronger out, Meszeros out, that's a BIG part of their defense. Flyers need some talent back there, question is do they have the cap room for what PK is demanding?

Yeah I don't think they'll make that trade, but they definitely need to add someone on D because playing two of Gervais/Foster/Lilja is not good.

Classic classic leafs game tonight though. Played fairly smart defensively for 2 periods and get 2 miracle goals off of smart plays but lack of forecheck against a bigger opponent hurt them by the 3rd.

On the flip side I really like JVR and hope he gets a shot with Kessel since no one fears Macarthur or Bozak to score lmao.

Well pre-game I logged onto that msn thing to say fuck you then leave. At 1st intermission I said we needed waffles in the home locker room, at some point in the middle I said things could be so different - Brad Richards could be a Leaf and the Rangers would be winning all the faceoffs, and at the end I said nothing because we only beat the fucking Leafs and if that's a big game for the Rangers then shit has really gone downhill.

Was at the Sharks game yesterday. Interesting factoid:

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — Patrick Marleau became the second player in NHL history to open a season with four straight multigoal games, striking twice on the power play in the first period in the San Jose Sharks' 4-0 victory against the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday.

Marleau has scored exactly two goals in each game this season, joining Ottawa's Cy Denneny in 1917-18 as the only players to open a campaign with four multigoal games, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.
