Per Scout premium, got some clarification on the Neal situation.

Urban and staff feel they have 1 more spot left (Jamaal Berry court case, 1 medical waiver that should come out soon, and a possible transfer).

They feel Diggs is leaps and bounds a better prospect than Neal. See Neal as the kind of talent they can find in any class.

They are holding the last spot for Diggs... Urban & co feel they are the favorites to land him right now.

Nole or Gator, they don't care...but Valdosta is ~1h from both while Athens is 4h from Valdosta...plus, I'd bank his grandpa is on the take from one of those schools...he's been the holdup so far in getting that LOI out.

Thursday morning, UGA officials confirmed that the school has received the faxed letter-of-intent from five-star prospect Josh Harvey-Clemons, making him a Bulldog.

Harvey-Clemons signed with Georgia during a ceremony that was televised on ESPN.

The former Lowndes star could not immediately be reached for comment, but a source close to the family to UGASports said Wednesday night that the situation was being resolved.

The letter of intent was held up because Harvey-Clemons' grandfather Woodrow had not yet signed the official documents.

Head coach Mark Richt did not mention Harvey-Clemons by name during Wednesday's press conference with the media, but Bulldog sources say they expect the situation to be resolved.

LSU's recruiting coordinator Frank Wilson keeping it real:

"As far as do we take into consideration what some of the — heh, heh — recruiting evaluators on the outside take, well, I don't know," Wilson said in an interview with 104.5 FM in Baton Rouge Monday. "Here's what I can tell you. It's hard from me to take credence in a guy who's scheduled to evaluate in Louisiana, and he's based in Oklahoma and he's assigned four different states. And he doesn't come to Louisiana in three years. He's never been to Pointe Coupee. He's never been to Baldwin. They don't even know where it is. So how can you possibly give a ranking to someone you've never seen?"

"We have to trust our evaluation, because we go to every nook and cranny in the state of Louisiana," Wilson said. ... we're watching them at their school, and we're getting them on our campus in the position-specific drills that we'll teach them or we'll ask them to do when they get to LSU."

"We watch them their junior year, their senior year and give them an honest assessment," he said. "From that point on, we make the determination as a staff. We're not concerned if he's a two-star and not a five-star. That makes for good reading, and we certainly love those guys' profession. But at the end of the day, it doesn't matter who it is — Sports Illustrated, Rivals, Scout, whomever. They're not going to determine who we should offer. We're going to offer based off collectively as a staff the guys we evaluate. This is what we do. And this is a great quality class in every way."

I've always thought Rivals, Scouts, etc were more services to allow fans of schools and highschool sports to feel as if they're informed about prospects.

True, in the end its another resource that they'd be stupid not to use.

Sure they factor that in, but it doesn't dictate who they offer (unlike, say, Texas until a year or two ago).

Mo Claiborne was a 2-star athlete until he got an offer from LSU. Then he got a bump up to a 3. Tyrann Mathieu was barely a 3-star. One is a top 5 pick and the other a Heisman finalist. A lot of times Rivals just evaluates kids based on their lists if they can't actually scout the player in person. And if LSU uncovers a diamond in the rough in-state, they aren't exactly in a hurry to alert the national recruiting services about it.

The Momma Kiel stuff ended up not being true.

From everything I've seen, read, or heard Kiel made a knee jerk commit right after visiting LSU and started waffling almost immedietly after returning home. Kiel never wantd to really move away from home anyways. That's what made the LSU commit so odd and out of nowhere to begin with.

Brian Kelly alledgely ethered a kid yesterday(Greenberry) saying of his choice to go to Houston that he'd "rather play 4 games against him than 4 years with him."

Bullshit move by either coach(if it's true in Kelly's case)
