Asante Samuel and DRC are both too small and too bad at tackling to either be a viable option at S. Then even in nickel packages I'd say you have to put Nnamdi Asomugha at nickel because he's much more physical than those two. I suppose they could use a 4-2-5 defense as their base like some college teams. Then they could take a linebacker off the field which is obviously widely believed to be their weakness defensively. Now I think it's pretty obvious they won't move to a 4-2-5. But neither would be a viable option at FS imo. I think it'd be best to trade him and open up money for DeSean. If they do that then they have two future draft picks from trades this off-season alone.
IMO, they gotta keep Samuel for the season. He is gonna get a lot of INTs with those other corners. Giving him up for a 3rd or 4th round pick in a season where they're clearly going for the Super Bowl is stupid ... and DeSean has to report or he gives up a year of free agency.
