Not sure how I feel about him moving to the 4-3, but the Saints now have one of the best interior lines around, with a three-man rotation of Sedrick Ellis, Shaun Rogers and Franklin. That means plenty of space for Will Smith and Cameron Jordan to rush from the end.

Great deal for a backup running back, and it will keep McCoy fresher, and it works out really well because Philly doesn't have a proven back behind him either. Although I am surprised that Brown didn't end up back in Miami.

They really needed Miller back. Their wide receivers are not proven behind him, and Jason Campbell was always used to having a tight end as his safety valve with Chris Cooley in Washington. Not to mention, Al Saunders loves to utilize the tight end (think Tony Gonzalez in KC) so it really does surprise me that Miller wasn't brought back.

Losing their best player on defense and arguably their best player on offense is huge. I'm not certain what the Raiders are playing at here.
 
The Colts have signed former Bears DT Tommie Harris(notes) to a one-year deal, according to Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times.

The Bears cut Harris, who was their first-round pick in 2004, before the lockout. Harris made three consecutive Pro Bowls from 2005-2007.

In 2010, he played in 15 games with six starts, recording a career-low 1.5 sacks.

Harris reportedly had a visit with the Patriots as well. The Colts lost DT Daniel Muir(notes) to the Rams via free agency.

With Ernie Sims, Harris is a nice addition to this defense. He is a low risk/high reward signing. If both of those players play up to their potential, the Colts will have one of the better defenses in years.
 
A league sources tells the Baltimore Sun that the asking price for Giants DE Osi Umeyiora has dropped to a second-round pick.
The same source confirms that five teams are in the hunt, including the Ravens and Patriots. Several members of the Ravens front office are urging GM Ozzie Newsome to pull the trigger, but he's reportedly concerned about Umenyiora's history of hip and knee injuries. Newsome also has salary cap issues to consider with Ray Rice and Joe Flacco in line for extensions. Signing Haloti Ngata to a long-term deal would helping free up space, lowering his 2011 salary. NFL Network's Jason LaCanfora adds the Falcons to the list of teams interested in Umenyiora at the right price
