Defense is about a lot more than just sticking with the guy in front of you, that should be the easiest part of running an effective defense on a sim. The core aspect is your overall strategy and positioning, closing lanes, knowing when to collapse, how to play each guy, etc. The on ball defense is nothing more than a test of stick skills which is not representative of the real game. We can say it's a crutch tho, but at least it was something that forced the offense to create shots with ball movement and strategy as oppose to using iso motion as a crutch instead.

It all depends on how u look at it tho. Should stick skills play a crucial part in sports games or should it simply be about simulating the game?

I don't have a problem with the way it is now, but ideally I want to win and lose based off strategy and decision making, not stick skills. At least balance it out a bit tho by making the controls on D more responsive.

Jordan challenges suck. Mainly because you have to be a cheeser and only shoot with Michael. No way can you distribute scoring around and score 69 points with 8 minute quarters.

Also, please fire/demote the art department manager, 2K. He sucks. Every Jordan shoe looks like shit. Cant even get the proper colorway for each year of the Bulls.

Back to My Player. Maybe they'll change the quarter length for the challenges in a patch. Otherwise, I'll probably never beat em.

Anyone know how to call plays in My Player mode? Only plays I can call are like Quick Pick n Roll, Quick Post Up, Quick Iso, Quick Screen. I'm a PG and my teammates act pretty clueless a lot of the time so it'd be nice to be able to run a real play. I'm tired of Robert Griffin and Robin Lopez ruining my SL team, I wish I had their brothers instead.

Wow, huge difference between HOF and SS. I've been playing HOF since that's usually the lobby with the most people, but SS definitely plays a lot better. Mid range game is actually doable now.

I think you have to switch play calling to auto.

you can't hit right on the d-pad(i think..up is heat check that's for sure) and then use the bumpers/ L1/R1 to cycle through the five plays per position? That's how I think it is. For default, you have those quick ones, but then if you hit the bumpers/shoulders, it should go into specific plays by position.

I think of it more of an Arcade mode. I would rather have the ability to bump it up to 12min Q and have fatigue decrease faster. The Cavs challenge is the only one so far that I did have to cheese big time. The others I could set up plays and still distribute to other guys.....making 47 points is way easier than 69.

I'm playing a game right now where Melo has 19 shots attempted at halftime... Melo averaged like 22 shots per game in 2010. And this Melo situation has nothing on the game last night where I went against Kevin Durant. Too many shot attempts by certain players, and it's happening way too often.
