Official Fight Night Round 4 Thread

W/E its all good.

But on to the SPAM I hear you I had two fights last night where the dicks would just jab jab jab non stop to the body I couldn't move. I lost all my stamina he lost none even if I did block i couldn't punch back they need to patch this make the puncher lose stamina with jabs they lose none.

Yea, something needs to be done about the footwork. The guy I played picked Duran and I had Sweet Pea. I could not stay on the outside. It seems like the fighters get sucked in together at times. All he did was throw right hand body hooks and like you said I would lose stamina when weaving from side to side while he punched away and loss none.

Another guy I played was SRR and I was SSM and I couldnt back away from him. He just walked foward whiele blocking then would spam crosses. The counter windows seemed liked they wouldnt open up for me against these bums.

in the demo i definately felt that the fighter got stuck together to easily like magnets but the cpu wasnt as cheap as a human i suppose

I faced a dude a couple times who was Ali and I was Tyson that killed me with haymaker body hook shots. I was weaving and blocking and trying to counter but Ali never fatigued or slowed down and it seemed impossible to block those body hooks (assuming there's no way to get around them other than to back up or block them). Was really frustrated.

Just won my 1st fight on G.O.A.T by 7th round KO. I was Nate Campbell and fought a Juan Diaz that I downloaded. You have to be a smart boxer on GOAT level and pick and choose your shots. I knocked him down twice in total and was winning on all scorecards 59-54 up until that point..

Yo, I have a question about FNR4's Legacy Mode. I know the ratings of your boxer will get leveled, but what about the ratings of the other legendary boxers? Do they keep their original ratings, or do their ratings also get leveled?

im kinda bummed today. I fell asleep at about 9 last night and missed an entire night of boxing.....fucking sinus infection is kicking my ass. Who gets a cold in the summer time....fucking bullshit is what it is....im getting cheesed by a cold

I traded in two games I picked up from BB when they had their $10 sale and rushed into Target this morning and snagged NFS: Undercover for $13. Basically got FN4 for $33.

Just played the Rumble in the Jungle as my first fight on GOAT. Foreman took me out in the 7th round and was killing me on points.

Every time I played the counter game I done it well but I was too willing to brawl with him and he had me early on so I was fighting from behind from then on. I did knock him down once just a minute after eating canvas myself though. Second time lucky?

I don't agree with you guys complaining about the punch spam online though. I've found that if you just work the body and let them punch your block for four rounds you will soon have a damn fatigued opponent you can rip into.

Now that I have more time in with this game im starting to get annoyed with it. The gameplay is showing the same pattern during fights. Every fight I have goes 7-8 rounds. I win rounds 1-7 and in the 7th or 8th the cpu manages some little burst of super power and lands a punch for a KO.

The cpu defense is also too good. They block and counter everything and counter punches are extremely powerful. I don’t seem to get credit for a head move and counter or a block and counter. Haymakers are worthless vs the cpu. I land a few to the body, but if I try and goto the head they just block it. Haymakers might as well not even be there now.

What really bothers me is that the outside fight game is pointless in FN4. If you choose to be a long reach jab type boxer then you lose. The jab is so worthless at doing damage that you can land the punch at 70% and it really has very little effect on damaging your cpu opponent. I land it and setup a hook or a uppercut, but the cpu always blocks those and counters or manages an uppercut counter for a flash KO.

Im only playing fight now matches right now. I been using heavyweights (no cabs). Im gonna play around with the sliders and see if I can get a better experience.

What difficulty are you playing on? This may seem illogical since you keep losing but maybe you should turn up the difficulty if you're on one of the lower levels. The CPU gets more aggressive as you go up the scale, perhaps a more aggressive opponent would lead to more balance and less of you dominating the scorecard then finally getting caught with a flash KO.

I'm not in the mood to debate, but I will say I disagree with all of the other things you said in that post.

I made my way online yesterday and got destroyed in less than a round in 5 straight fight.

Every fight, I ended up thowing and landing more as well as having the higher connect %, but after 30 seconds of trying to match their throw output, I have no staminia, where they have almost all theirs. I have no clue what to do.

yeah, online is a joke.....people just spam punches and for some reason your stamina drops, but not theirs.

lol maynard, my CAB boxer is an outside game boxer and I love it. lots of jabs, hooks and straights. they will block a lot of it but the key is countering. The timing takes some getting used to.

If people are spamming punches online, just block. They will wear down and then you unleash on them. Because of their lowered stamina, the hits you land on them will hurt even more.

When you start your legacy and/or play on an easy difficulty, you can be a glass cannon and win fights. I'm starting to break into the 30's and I realize you have to take your time. Let guys come to you at times and counter counter counter. I mean, I fought a guy lastnight. I didn't ring his bell the whole fight. I weaved under 1 of his hooks and caught him with a right hook of my own and he went down. No dazed sequence none of that, just down.

I don't have a problem with the suppoesed "Spam Punching", I have a problem with the fact I believe I am doing something wrong. I have no stamina and they have the fountain of youth. I tried just countering, my stamina would go down from body shots. I would try throwing body shots, my stamina would go down from throwing. I always end up in my corner getting pummeled. I'm not sure if it was because all 5 opponenets were Tyson (I was LL, RJJ, MA)

Why do I have no stamina and they never drain but to the most 3/4 full?

Side note, the traing is killing me. I have gotten past bum now on all of them execept the heavy bag push. I don't even know the premise behind the drill. Am I supposed to get the f-n thing to swing or stay still.

When punches land, they drain less stamina. At least it seems that way. When I've managed to connect on combinations of punches, my stamina seems like it stays high. However, when I have a ton of punches get blocked or dodged, it seems my stamina is low.

When your stamina is low, you need to allow it to regenerate. Back up and let it regen. Attacking your opponent's body drains their stam. Attacking your opponents face drains their health.

Health - keeps you up
Stamina - when very low, hits you take hurt a lot more, and your damage is reduced bigtime

imo, stamina is much more important than health in this game just because of the fact you can go down in 1 punch. Or get your bell rung with 1 hit and then have a guy finish you off.

Learn to block. Learn to connect with your punches. It's boxing. I'm not quite sure how else to explain it. The best boxers are the ones who know how to avoid getting hit and know how to hit the other guy. Seems kinda cliche doesn't it?

Reading the instruction manual and watching the tutorial vids that come with the game worked wonders for me.

Well, I would assume they get leveled based on the rankings they start with in the legacy mode. For example, the champions won't have ratings on level with the boxer your starting the legacy with. The guys you fight early on will though obviously.

By the time you get up to where you are contender, you had better hope you have trained hard enough to be good enough to have a chance against the champions.

ok guys I have a question about the game. Im wondering if you can throw punches with the face buttons (X, circle,square,triangle) I play with the sticks but my brother and my uncle play with the face buttons. thanks to whoever answers
