What I laughed at was ND fans that brought up Manziel's arrest early in the year. Many think that ND players never do anything wrong, but forget Rees and 11 players arrested. I would have been fine if T'eo won but I'm glad we don't have to hear his sad story till the NC.

I wasn't talking about those guys being up for Heisman...I mean in general. ND has made it look like they are holy since the days of Catholics vs Convicts, even though many have said they are the dirtiest players on the field. I don't know if that is true (since I don't play on opposing sides) or just jealousy. Most ND fans I encountered online defense for T'eo winning was tearing down a kid and his actions off the field. As far as Manziel being arrested...he was a dumb 19 year old kid. Despite the Heisman committee saying its about good character....I don't remember them picking a guy who had good character over someone who had better ovr stats (both sides can cherry pick stats that support their side). I don't agree what he did to get arrested (disorderly conduct) but to say ND wouldn't be pushing Rees if he had the numbers when he was playing is hilarious. ND has been ranked in the top 25preseason for several years in a row....I'm glad they FINALLY made those ranking guys look smart. I hope that they make a competitive game against Bama or there will just be people saying they got in because of the color of their helmets.

The dirtiest plays I've seen in my life was in 07 at Penn State when Travis Thomas was throwing punches at some player after a punt and I seem to remember Kerry Neal stomping on someone recently too. But ND being dirty? No.

Under the tarnished Dome is pretty widely accepted as a gigantic failure. Most of the stories have proven to be untrue or at worst unsubstantiated pissing and moanings of guys that Holtz kicked off the team or didn't play. The link you posted pretty much disproves the entire book.

Just recalled my favorite memory from that era. i think some back up offensive guard complained Holtz didn't play him because he couldn't pass block well enough when he had an injury.

Let me get this straight....Notre Dame..in the late 80's wasn't playing you...because you couldn't pass block.
