I only seen the 1st inning but heard he was impressive. Once he settles in, he should be just fine. He looked like he had good stuff(based on the first inning), but was a little wild -- probably due to nerves/adrenaline from his first start.
 
It was great that we got the sweep in San Diego, lets hope we can carry the momentum into LA and take maybe 3 games in this series. That way when we go into New York we can have a nice lead in the division and possibly even get a bigger lead. Let's see what happens in LA first.
 
Yep...huge to get the sweep and get off to a good start on this road trip. I'll settle for a split in LA, but 3 of 4 would be great.

With the Mets in a tailspin, we could really separate ourselves from the rest of the pack in the division if we can keep this up.
 
A complete game shutout for Hamels and he didn't allow any walks. Talk about a great performance by our Ace. Now we are winners of 7 straight and are 4 games up on the Mets, I'm lovin it. Tonight we are going to have to rely more on our batting and bullpen with Moyer on the mound, but I think we can win this one.
 
Great job by Hamels. The starting pitching has been great the last week or so.

I think with Moyer getting win 250 out of the way, he'll pitch better from here on out. He also started slow in April/May the last couple years, then picked it up from June til the end of the season. Hopefully that trend continues.
 
5-2 on this road trip so far and only three games to go. I'm hoping we can take 2 of 3 from the Mets and then return home with a good lead in the NL East.
 
Yeah, we should have swept the Dodgers, but things won't work out perfectly all the time. 5-2 is nothing to be mad at, and hopefully we can win the series vs. the Mets to have a 4 game lead going into interleague play.

Is it me or do we ALWAYS get Santana when we play the Mets. We can't avoid the dude, but oh well, just gotta take it to him. Mets are missing some key guys, so I expect to play well this series.

Facing Redding will be tough too, he's a bum but seems to own us for some reason. I was at the game last year when he pitched for the Nats and he 1 hit us and we lost 1-0.

It's not just you. I can't stand it. Santana ALWAYS lines up against the Phils, and Hamels never seems to line up against the Mets. At least he'll get a start this series though.

Not only that, but Santana just fucking OWNS the Phils. I mean, Chan Ho Park threw a one hitter through like, 7 innings last time didn't he? And even that wasn't enough.
 
Wow that game was amazing. Utley is just on fire right now and that diving catch by Werth was amazing. It's good to see us swinging the bat the way we are right now. I think we are going to beat Redding tomorrow night and then go into the Sox series with a good lead on the Mets.
 
That was so clutch. Two outs and he takes the ball 400 feet into the bullpen. That was such a great road trip, didn't lose one series and now we got a 4 game lead over the Mets, things are going great for the Phils.
 
Great road trip. This Sox series should be a lot of fun. I'll be at the game on Sunday, I can't wait. Let's take 2 of 3 and hope for a Yankees sweep!!
 
Were we just hosed? Sure seems like it. Every replay looks like Dobbs hit that right over the poll. Even if he didn't, why wasn't it reviewed? Why? I don't understand it. Am I missing something here?

Yeah those calls are so hard, I think Charlie Manuel would of put up more of an argument if he truly believed it was a Home Run and even if they went to a replay they would need inconclusive evidence that it was gone.(like when the NFL reviews a play). But the firstbase/homeplate umpires do have a 100x better view then we do at home on our TV.

Which is why I won't raise a stink over it, because I can understand the idea that it could easily be an optical illusion, I guess I just don't understand why you at least don't take the time to look at it? I mean, it takes, how much time, really? Just give it a second look just to be sure.

I feel like shit after a loss like that, Dobbs had it won and then just like that Kendrick killed us.

I dont know why they wouldnt review it. On the Sox post game show they said if the manager asks for a review then usually they grant them on a controversial plays. So maybe Manuel didnt think it was gone. but who knows.

Yeah I mean, I can't imagine that's the case in this situation, unless Charlie is lying. He said that he asked for a replay and he was denied and when he asked why he was denied he said the reason was "because I got a good look and I've been doing this for a while".

Still, no excuses were made either way, and they shouldn't have been. They could have won the game there, or it could have ended the same way. Either way, Kendrick blew it. I think I'm more bitter that the Phils lost a situation in which they didn't have to face Papelbon. Yikes.
 
It should have been reviewed. It probably wouldn't have gotten overturned , but they have to at least look at it. That's what they brought replay in for. Most likely though the call would have stayed the same, because there was no conclusive evidence.
