I'm really curious what the future for PS+ will be. The Giant Bomb guys actually made a great point on their Xbox One reveal podcast. When Sony launched PS+ on PS3 they had a nice back catalog of games to offer in theor "Instant Game Collection". That won't be th cast on PS4, especially with their being no backwards compatability.

My 1st guess is a "Starter Pack" of some sort. Like some of the PSN download titles(Cuz I would hope the store isn't empty at launch). Or as a loyalty thing give you one of the launch titles for free(to keep would be extra nice). Will probably come up with more guesses tomorrow.

I mean look at the PS3...its not backwards compatible on discs but shit you can plays tons of PS2 and PSone games.

Well all ps3s can play psone games. The ps2 games have to be tweaked to work on the ps3. This is why the selection is kind of shitty. Gaikai would be the ideal solution.

To play the old games i guess that would be true. The thing about always online was all about the console not working without being online. As long as the console itself functions properly without being online (plays ps4 games and downloads on the console) then it's fine.

I can't imagine it would be before 2015 at the earliest. They never solved the network issues that came with Home, and the possibilities and variables for Gaikai make Home seem simple. Unless they're okay with releasing it and it being dog shit, I think it's a quite a ways off.

Gaikai isn't something that has to be built from the ground up. Nothing new to learn. It isn't new technology.

PS4: PS Vita remote-play support mandatory for all games

PlayStation 4 titles must all support PS Vita remote-play functionality, and the only exception is games that use the PS4 Eye camera.

Noted as a rumor earlier, the news was confirmed by Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida on Twitter.

“Yes, it’s true unless the game requires specific hardware like the camera,” he said.. “It will be great to play PS4 games on PS Vita.”

The original information came froma Eurogamer Digital Foundry report, which stated: “A trusted PlayStation 4 developer source with a proven track record for accuracy has told Digital Foundry that Sony has mandated Vita Remote Play for all upcoming PS4 games – except those that require the use of its bundled stereoscopic camera, the PS4 Eye.”

Such a move could propel interest in PS Vita handhelds moving forward, providing the same brand of off-TV play currently employed on Wii U.

The earlier report added that cross-play between PS4 and PS Vita will downscale the, “1080p framebuffer to the Vita’s native 960×544 resolution, using the PS4′s in-built hardware h.264 video encoder to compress the image”, which is then transferred to the handheld via Wi-fi.

Gaikai isn't something that has to be built from the ground up. Nothing new to learn. It isn't new technology.

There's plenty new to learn. Just because the technology isn't new, doesn't mean that all of the sudden cloud gaming is just going to fit neatly into their plans. There are so many potential pitfalls with something like this, there's a reason why it hasn't come close to succeeding yet.

I hope it pops up fast and is awesome and totally functional, but I don't share the rosey-eyed view of Sony that you do, particularly when it comes to anything involving them expanding their network.

The point I was making is that Gaikai is something that was already in place by itself and the PSN has been working towards running it for almost a year. All of these things are mysteries, and like I said, there just isn't enough evidence there for streaming gaming or Sony to fill me with confidence that this thing will be out at launch or anytime soon after launch in any kind of useful capacity (I could see a Beta, MAYBE).

If it is ready for launch or anything close to it...dont worry Sony will show it at E3. If we dont see Gaikai at E3...then be ready to wait.

Well if we look at Gaikai and even OnLive for the average user. It only took a 5mbps download and 1mbps upload. I'm pretty sure that is everyone not running phone DSL.
