This is a team that has won the division I think 4 out of the last 5 years. Had a horrible injury plagued season this year. They don't need everything. They need 1 solid O-Lineman, 1 WR (Crabtree) and a Safety so they stop giving up the long balls. That's it. They do this and they will be back to 10-6 this next season. Well, depending on Mora and how the players take to his system.

What do you guys think the Hawks need to do to be back on top of the NFC West? Hasselbeck is getting old. They don't have a #1 RB or WR. The defense played like crap last year even though they have some solid pieces.

I say they get Crabtree in the draft. Try to solidify the O-line which hasn't been the same since Hutchinson left and bitch slap some of the defensive guys to make them play like they can.

Thoughts?

Easy solution.. don't have 7 WR's get hurt by Week 3. Don't have your defense ravaged by injuries and horrible coaching. Don't have your offensive line ravaged by injuries.

That would help right there.

I think as long as we are healthy, we're going to be fine. That 4-12 record in 2008 was very deceiving because even with our ample problems.. we lost many games by 6 points or less. That tells me we just didn't have the players to get over the hump last year, which makes sense given the aforementioned injury problems.

Crabtree would obviously be the best quick fix on offense in the draft. I would much prefer that than drafting for life after Matt Hasselbeck (Stafford or Sanchez) or Walter Jones (any number of offensive linemen). I think if we were to land Crabtree and sign a decent WR in FA.. that would instantly fix that area.

We may not be a Super Bowl team, but we can easily win the division again. We're not like the Rams basically.. we have lots of pieces, they just have to stay on the field.

Wow. So Hasselbeck is done and your solution is an overweight QB that takes 28 seconds to throw.. or a guy that was in jail and would have missed about 2 years.. and ultimately was responsible for Jim Mora losing his first gig in Atlanta.

Makes total sense, sign me up!

For one.. Hasselbeck is far from done. When healthy he is one of the best QB's in football.. two.. most of the team that played in Super Bowl XL is no longer there. So I don't think that's a problem either.

I kinda think its good that Wallace has a pocket passers mentality. As a QB you shouldnt rely on your legs. The only thing that might be his downfall is his height. I dont think he is over 6ft tall

I disagree. Seneca's numbers were grossly inflated. Much of his success came against defenses in the bottom third of the league at stopping the pass.. the games against decent/good pass defenses were abysmal at best.

Seneca is a decent backup, but he should not be considered a starter.

I say the Hawks go WR in the first round. Maybe if Stafford falls they pick him up. Matt should have another 2-3 solid years left in him though, if not more. Maybe O-line if there is someone worthy of the #4 pick.

So your saying the Raiders should be banned because of 6 bad years. But the Cardinals who haven't won in NFL Championship in 60 years or something like that and the same goes for the Lions. They haven't been good since Dick Lebeau was their defensive back and that was quite a long time ago. There are a lot of other teams that are going through or have been through what the Raiders are going through. You don't just eliminate a team because they aren't very good right now.

i see them going raji and put him next to the other DT, if forgot his name but nect year he will be great IMO, he is very underrated and with Raji and him in the middle and Kerny on the outside, a linebacker tiro of Hill, tatapu and peterson with a safety like delmas in the second and a croner like trufant they could be great next year

just looked it up and his name is Brandon Mebane, the guy could seriously be great next year, Raji and UT and Mebane at NT or vise versae, Raji is a great pass rusher so i believe he could play both
