Holding out hope is suggesting there is a chance we don't draft him.

I don't see anyone trading above us to get him.. and I don't see the Lions, Rams or Chiefs taking him.. thus I am very confident he will be a Seahawk in late April.

And even better news to report.. as expected.. an offensive linemen completely stole the show at the combine today.. one Jason Smith.

Meaning, the Rams are going to be hard pressed to pass on the guy ..

I would ballpark the first 5 picks right now as so.

1. Lions - Stafford
2. Rams - J. Smith
3. Chiefs - Sanchez
4. Seahawks - Crabtree
5. Browns - Curry

With The M's getting Junior back for the sentimental factor and if the Hawks actually do get Crabtree, I think it would be safe to say that Seattle sports might actually be fun to watch this year. Oh, and the Sounders FC isn't looking too bad either.

i dont see how seattle can passon crabtree honestly. with the 26 wr's that went on IR last year they need him badly. In truth I was sure they would at least talk to TJ Whoseurmomma, no way the cards will trade boldin to them for less than 10 1st round draft picks. Maybe even 85 could go there.

My biggest thing with Housh is.. he has always been in Ocho Cinco's shadow.. even in college. I just wonder how much of his production was him and how much was him facing single coverage when Chad had double coverage most of the time.

I like Housh a lot.. but just believe he would be better off if he were paired with a home run threat. He's more of a possession receiver now.

Ok, i know this might sound ludicrous but am i the only one that thinks Seneca Wallace has a chance to beat out Matt Hasselbeck for the starting quarterback job? Here come the statistics.

Matt Hasselbeck: 5tds - 10ints, 52%, 1-6 as starter in 2008, Got sacked 19 times in 7 games.

Seneca Wallace: 11tds - 3ints, 58%, 3-5 as starter in 2008, Got sacked 14 times in 8 games.

So? Not saying that he will but he seems that he has a legit chance he could.

Hasselbeck is on the decline. Wallace is on the rise. Wallace is not suited to be a starter but I'm not sure that Hasselbeck is a starter anymore either. The Seahawks are lucky they play in the NFC West.

If Hasselbeck is healthy. There is no debate. He's the guy. When he is healthy there are few in the NFC better than him.

The problem is, the weapons around him have quickly deteriorated. Shaun Alexander's shelf life hit the shitter in 2 years after the Super Bowl run. Bobby Engram was hurt most of the last two years. Deion Branch was hurt most of the last two years. Nate Burleson just blew his knee. The interior of our line is a train wreck.. and even Walter Jones was hurt most of the season.

I still believe Hass has at least 3 years of good play left in him. It all depends on who we can surround him with.

And I am sorry.. Seneca Wallace is not a starting QB at this level. Solid backup yes. Starter no. His numbers were very inflated when you break them down game by game..

Hasselbeck will be a Pro Bowl caliber QB for the next 3 years. When he is healthy, he has the ability to put the team on his shoulders and carry them. I expect him to come back healthy this upcoming season and with a new WR threat or O-lineman the Seahawks should be back on top of the NFC West.

The only way the Cardinals will be a threat is if Warner signs with them and so does Boldin. Fitz will get double covered even more then and Breaston won't be as open as the 2nd WR.

It'll be interesting to see how it all plays out for the 'Hawks. Conventional wisdom had them taking Crabtree for a long time, and even with his recent news, they still very well could. But with the injuries that have plagued Seattle's receiving corps last season, do they want to spend Top Five money on a receiver who played through two injuries last season and will need surgery to correct one? If one of the top two tackles is on the board for the Seahawks (Monroe or Smith), they might be tempted to go that way and invest in a WR later, especially if they want their offense to be geared more towards the run (which I thought I read that's the case).

It's hard to say.. Knapp was more conservative in Oakland and Atlanta because he was working with young QB's that were still learning the West Coast offense.. and you could argue that in both situations.. those teams had better talent for the run game than for a passing offense.

It's definitely not going to be mistaken for Holmgren's play calling, but I believe Knapp will throw it more than typically does.. if only because our running game is not good.

All I know is.. a healthy Hasselbeck in 2007 = nearly 4000 yards and 28 TD
An unhealthy Hasselbeck with no one to throw the ball to = worst season as a starter.

If he's healthy, he's fine.

After looking at Matt's stats over his career, the only knock on the guy I see is that his completion percentage could be better. You have to realize though that the Hawks were one of the worst teams when it came to WR drops. If some of those were caught I'm sure his Comp% goes up 2-4%. Like in 2005.

Well hell.. against the Niners and Rams we were down to our 7th and 8th string WR's. So yeah.. it was one of the strangest seasons I have ever seen in my life.

Having John Marshall call the defense was also like having a root canal minus the Novocain by the way. So enjoy that in 2009.
