Been saying it for a while now. Cousins is no where near as good as everyone thinks he is. He was last among QB's who had 150+ passes last year in almost every single category including QB Rating, INT rate, and TD rate.

finally, somebody i can agree with.

just watching his games where he actually starts is enough for me to say, he is NOT good. even in the games that he comes in to sub for RGIII.
he is good a series, maybe 2. after that, its an INT, Sack for FMB.
Defense won that game against JAX a few weeks ago and because JAX is that bad.......thats the bottom line.

i been talking about this since RGIII went down (again)

remember how RGIII got hurt early they kept him playing over Cousins??

RGIII wasn't even on the field yesterday despite the cast coming off. He was up in a suite. It is a different sport, but despite having Tommy John surgery, Matt Wieters has been on the bench for just about every Orioles game despite being out for the year. With Cousins saying constantly this is RGIII's team, I would expect him on the sidelines helping to lead the team.

I also think it's important not to overreact. It's one game, and was Cousins' sixth start. We still don't know when RGIII is coming back despite his cast being removed, and at this point, I am leaning in the direction that neither QB might be right for this team. The good thing is that we have an extra bye in a sense to prepare for our next game, and it's at home. The bad news is that it's against the Seahawks and they are coming off a bye.

looking for a QB in round 1, like Jameis Winston, is bad idea. we dont have luck with guys from Fla St.

it would look pretty bad making those moves for RGIII and giving up on him, no??

I'm not advocating for Jameis Winston- too much baggage and the media would be all over his every move.

It would look bad giving up on RGIII after what they gave up, but you also have to remember he's had an ACL reconstruction (on top of a previous reconstruction in college) and had a bad ankle injury right now. It's also his third season, and he still doesn't look comfortable in the pocket and his best showing was once again rolling him out and taking him out of the pocket against JAX before he got hurt. If Cousins doesn't take control of the starting job, and it's looking like that's the case, I would be comfortable giving Griffin 2015 before we look at other options.

However, I would argue that, except for secondary, this is the most depth that this team has had since the 1999 season where we won the division. We have great running backs, our receivers I would put against anyones and our tight ends are solid. The offensive line is decent, but there's still the weak link with Polumbus at right tackle. On defense, we all knew the secondary was our weakest spot perod, but our linebackers have the talent and the defensive line is very deep, but currently hurt by injuries. Guys who have strengths in rotations are now playing full-time and not the way they intended. Losing Cofield is also a huge loss, the guy has been great since coming here and switching to NT.

With those strengths, that is just proving how important QB is in the NFL today, and can the Redskins afford to wait?

Winston has too much baggage........
we been dealing with this since RGIII's rookie year. its not hype either.
he earned rookie of the year and had the stats to prove it.
he got hurt, wasnt 100% all of last year, with a really bad O-Line
and
limitations with Offensive weapons.
yes; he is hurt again
But
Cousins still sucks as a starter for the Redskins, maybe in the NFL

there is a reason why RGIII continued to play hurt in the Seattle/Redskins playoff game....
he is obviously the better choice of: a Hurt RGIII over a Healthy Cousins


i just dropped Niles Paul for Jordan Reed in one of my leagues.
Niles has a pretty bad concussion, i would be very surprised if he starts.
Reed was out was for 3 weeks..........
I would say Witten since he is healthy and a starter.
Romo will eventually throw it to him instead of a INT to the other team

I will agree with you on Cousins, he has not been good. I have a feeling you guys will always be dealing with RGIII being hurt.

Thanks for the TE advice. It is just frustrating to see Witten stay in and block so much.

I just dropped Niles Paul this week. Jordan Reed is practicing and I believe he is expected play on Monday. Fantasy wise, the Redskins offense doesn't really support 2 TEs. With Niles Paul's emergence, I believe it's going to hurt Jordan Reed's numbers as they try to get both of them the ball. Reed will get the redzone looks, Paul will probably get the long yardage down looks (that's if they split at all, could just be the Jordan Reed show). I would definitely go with Jason Witten.


I'm finding myself kind've hoping the Redskins do end up with the #1 pick and trade it in a similar trade to the RG3 trade and get a couple future firsts and move down a few spots this year and grab Landon Collins (I think this is his name) the safety out of Alabama. That would probably be my dream scenario at this point with seeing how the season is going.

With Cousins being the QB, I would expect him to continue to throw the ball towards Niles Paul even with Jordan Reed back. I'd still start Witten, but I'd hold onto Paul if you have the available roster spot for now. It might not be worth tracking yardage or TD wise with the Seahawks on the schedule, but see if he is still being targeted during that game.

Also Humble, if RGIII won ROY honors in 2012 and had the stats to prove it, how do you explain the offensive line being terrible despite every last player returning on the line for the 2013 season? Go ahead, I'll wait, but I'll give you a hint in the meantime :rg3datass:
