Xbox One to get 60 frames per second live sports channels

24/7 channels will deliver sports video content with integrated real-time stats and highlights.

Microsoft’s Xbox One will soon deliver live sports content streamed at 60 frames per second through 24-hour dedicated channels.

Through a partnership with NeuLion, the service will offer live sports feeds, on-demand content and real-time stats and analysis.

“NeuLion has enabled us to merge high-definition video with real-time data to create an interactive experience that is only available on Xbox One,” said Wil Mozell, GM of the Sports Entertainment Group at Microsoft.

No solid launch for the service has been mentioned.

Dead Rising 3 somehow sold over a million copies less than a month after release. Number seems pretty crazy to me. That's a big market share.

That does seem way high. Sold? Possibly. Sold through? Unikely.

Besides, most people that bought it probably traded it in after hearing about the massive patch.

NFL Network to stream live on Xbox One

Microsoft is preparing to deliver the NFL Network, live, on the Xbox One. The company is working with NeuLion to enable the delivery of the channel at 60 frames per second (fps).

Doubling the typical frame rate of live video is especially pertinent with sports broadcasts. Sports networks, including ESPN, consistently say that if forced to choose between one or the other, a faster frame rate is preferable to higher resolution.

Microsoft’s Xbox One is among the first consoles that has a video card capable of processing video at 60 fps, noted Chris Wagner, executive vice president and co-founder of NeuLion.
