Two Of The First ID@Xbox Games Revealed

At Gamescom 2013, Microsoft revealed its plans for self-publishing on Xbox One. The ID@Xbox program, led by Chris Charla (video interview here), is intended to be the gateway for small studios to reach an audience on Microsoft’s new platform.

Late last night, Microsoft Studios vice president Phil Spencer shared two of the first titles that will be published under the ID@Xbox banner. The first is a Windows Phone game making the jump to consoles.

Nutjitsu, by World of Keflings developer Ninjabee, puts players behind the mask of a squirrel ninja on quest to retrieve his clan’s stolen acorns. You can see a trailer for the Windows Phone version below.

The other title will come from the long-running Worms series. The most recent game in Team17’s team-based combat franchise, Worms: Clan Wars, was released only on PC in August 2013.

Microsoft has posted an overview of what is coming in the March update. It appears that they are just making the chat and party system work like it did on the 360, which should make everyone feel better about it.

We’ve prided ourselves on having the best multiplayer service for Xbox 360 and we’ve listened to your feedback about the features you want to see on Xbox One and Xbox Live. We’ve heard your feedback and the team has been working overtime to deliver updates that will significantly improve the multiplayer and party experience on Xbox One.
Here are more details on what’s coming for parties and multiplayer in March:

Get to your friends list faster. The friends list will be front and center on the homepage of the Friends app. Click the Social tile on Home, or say “Xbox, go to Friends” to see who’s online and what they’re up to. From there you can quickly send messages and get into a party.

Party chat will be turned on by default. When you party up, chat audio will be turned on by default.

Chat with friends playing different games. Party chat will be separated from people playing your game, so you can chat with your friends who are online or you can chat with everyone playing the game.

We’re adding an “Invite friends to game” option to your multiplayer titles moving forward. Similar to Xbox 360 titles, this will appear inside a games’ menu and offer a simple and quicker way to set up your multiplayer battles. Selecting “Invite friends” will let you invite friends to your game and party.

We’re adding “Recent Players.” This is a simple list that shows you Xbox Live members you’ve recently played with, making it easier to stay in touch with people, or add new friends after your multiplayer battles.


Our March Xbox One system update will start rolling out in early March. We’re excited to get these multiplayer and party improvements out in time for the March 11 launch of “Titanfall,” the highly anticipated team-based online multiplayer game.

The March update includes many more great features. The improvements to multiplayer and parties are just a few of the features that will be included, and we’ll continue to share more details in the days and weeks ahead, including in-depth videos so you’re all ready to take advantage of the new features in March. This update alone clearly proves that MS rushed this console right out the door back in November.


360 sales were dominating (still are) so my thoughts still stand - this console was meant for a 2014 release.

Wasn't there an update in December for this as well? Dunno why people keep saying this is the first update...

Glad to see the party stuff will be fixed, along with the other minor niggles. Neither console is without their respective faults, but I agree with Bill, both probably should have seen a release later this year instead of being rushed out for Christmas season in 2013.

The only issues that I have encountered with the PS4 are games/applications closing and booting back to the dashboard with an error code, and even that has beecome very infrequent. I can list, and have, myriad issues I've had with the XBox.

people should be butthurt when taking it in the butt. seriously, why would anyone pay that kind of money for an inferior headset? im assuming xbone users wont have a choice.

1) Party chat rarely working at all.(Not to mention I have to turn voice on?!?)
2) Party chat only allowing certain people to communicate with each other.
3) Games/apps crashing.
4) Kinect voice control spotty at best.
5) Profile signing out. Constantly having to sign back in.
6) Video record not working.
7) Constantly losing connection with my tv receiver.
8) Controller losing connection even though battery is full.
9) Forza telling me it needs to be installed every tume I pop the disc in.
