My hope would be that the check in occurs immediately at logon, and then the 24 hour period begins at first logoff. Next check in occurs after 24 hours if you're logged in, or immediately once you log in if it has been 24 hours since your original check in.

That's about the least intrusive way I can think of, unless they want to be really user friendly and just say that a new 24 hour period starts every time your connection is ended.

I think this absolutely has to be the way they do the check. As long as you're connected to the Internet, you should be fine. It would be stupid to perform a check at some arbitrary time. It would be even dumber to make the user have to check-in manually.

I mean, 2 weeks ago if someone said "all your phone calls, internet use, etc" is being recorded and stored by the Government and they build profiles on everyone.

But it ended up being true.

Why doubt this applying to the xbox for one of the early adopters of that program?

I don't see what it's going to tell them that having their hooks in phones and interwebs wouldn't. Seems like a pretty fruitless endeavor. Still, nothing is gained by me speculating about that anyway, because I'll still end up with one. Just like I still have a phone and still use the internet.

I have a camera that is on 99% of the time and carried with me wherever I go. There isn't a single person here that would do anything different in their life knowing a kinect was in the room.

Some of the reports out there are complaining about how GOOD the kinect is. That's so terribly dumb. Getting mad because of advanced technology...

My understanding is that he didn't bolt, he went to Europe. So I'm guessing yes. He'll at the very least come back to try and pick a fight with people he considers Xbox fanboys (I would think).

Who knows though, maybe he finally snapped.

Nobody is mad about advanced technology. Some people are mad that their rights don't matter to Microsoft.

I would also wager that there's more than just a single person that would act differently with a Juan in their home. Which is why they aren't going to buy it.

The worst possible thing that could ever happen to me because a camera and mic are in my house....My house gets robbed and they catch the thief.
