Okay, I just read that article, sorry didn't realize what you quoted was from Twiggs link . I can kinda see that working but I can also see someone getting money out of this, like a subscription service or something.

I mean, you could give your game disk to someone before but only one person could play it. So , there has to be a limit or some catch somewhere. I could theoretically let jms buy ALL of the games and I just
play his, right?

Yes Garret I do believe that if, and that is a big IF, I allow you in my "FAMILY" you will have access to all my games that I have purchased and installed on the xbox. Now the limitation as of now reads that only 1 person at a time. Therefore if my brother is playing "X" game from my library and you try and access "Y" game, you will be shut out. Therefore you might just wait or say fuck it and buy the game yourself.

It sounds like a lot of possibilities to fuck up...but we will find out. I dont think tons of business will be lost.

Let's say I add him on my family plan. When Fifa 14 comes out we can split the price paying 30 each and regardless of who keeps the physical disc, we'll both be able to play the game at the same time no matter what. Since we're the only ones in the plan to care about the game we don't have to worry about sharing time with others.


This is the perk of the family plan. Only thing is that we have no idea how much it's gonna cost, or how many extra restrictions they're gonna add over time. Like for instance when they first announced it they didn't say that there was a limit on how many people in your family plan can play at once.

There is no "Family" plan...only 1 paid subscription offered, xbox live gold with 10 "family" members. They never said anything about charging more for this service...

That's just it. This is M$ we're talking about. Couple that with the fact that they are know in bed with EA.

I'm guessing that this thing is going to be nowhere near as easy as some people are making it out to be. There will be restrictions upon restrictions and Xbox Live Gold will be more. Either that or they will add a Platinum plan.

Like someone else said, if this thing is as good as it sounds like it is why weren't they flaunting the hell out of it at E3? Why didn't we hear tons of bloggers and gaming journalists tweeting about it? So you'e telling me that M$ will spend minutes upon mintes of precious stage time at revious E3's showing how awesome Kinect chat is and how watching a movie in Party Mode is but they don't show anyone this? GTFO. Sony shouted to the radters about this feature when they announced PS3 many years ago, maybe a little too much so. Remember how Tretton got his enis spanked after telling everytone how up to FIVE people could download contentfrom ONE account. This is basically the same thing. It just doesn't add up.

I don't know about you but it is fairly obvious to me that the people running the PR stuff for microsoft clearly have an issue with lack of communication from others within the company. What is more then likely happening here is some big wig wanted to really sell the home theater part of the console early to try and build excitement of the product. The main problem is the box being a gaming device first and foremost in the past and having that core group of quite loud people being the main buyers this strat really back fired.

Some of the shit the juan is doing is pretty cool I'll admit that. Being canadian 90 to 95% of it will be worthless to me but maybe they will figure out a way to get around my governments retardedness in the future. Calling MS stupid really isn't the issue here. Lack of communication from within the company and some really bad PR choices are what are to blame. Underestimating things like the offline features was definatly a wrong move but then again I myself don't see why its such a big deal. Hell there's no one on this forum that should have a problem with this.

M$ need to tell us why all these features are GOOD for the gamer and let us weigh that. Even more so they need to convince us why is it $100 better than the PSFORE.

They keep saying what we cant do without telling us the upside. Anyway their is still 4 months till launch and a lot can change from both sides.

In all seriousness tho, this is what turns me off the most. Even though they are completely botching everything with they complete lack of explanation on anything and everything, most of the stuff is doable for me, personally. But making me purchase this damn thing is full retard. I hate motion gaming, I do not care about telling my XB1, "Xbox on" and it just doesn't make sense to make your console require it.
