Well I mean, even if it IS true (which I would guess it is at the end of the day, although I'm sure that cloud access will make it easier for them -- I think they said as much in the Bombcast they appeared in) who gives a shit?

It's almost as if this is a business and these two companies are competing!

I doubt Respawn or EA are going to publicly disclose what deal they have with Microsoft, but third party exclusives happen because publishers are paid extra to make it worth their while. Without compensation, it would make better business sense to release the game on many platforms as possible to make more sales.

If the quote IS true it is a big deal. All we've heard from Sony guys is that Sony went out and asked exactly what the developers wanted so they could make the best games for the system to dominate XB1's games. But here we are, before the consoles have even released, and Sony lost the biggest exclusive on the market because they don't have what the developer wants. It's a big slap in the face to Sony.

To be fair, all we've heard from MS guys is that MS went out and got exactly what the developers wanted so they could make the best games for the system to dominate PS4's games. If the quote is true, I still don't consider it a big deal, because it's just one damn game and it's not even a launch game.

That's completely false. Even the xbox engineers have come out and said the PS4 is the better machine for gaming alone.

That sounds like a backhanded compliment. And it doesn't sound like someone saying that MS DIDN'T go out and try to give developer's what they want. Are you implying that MS is arguing that their machine is inferior to the PS4 when it comes to game development? Because that would be a PR blunder that would somehow surpass all of their previous PR blunders combined.
