I really doubt he will do good, he can jump through the roof but he isn't that good. Chris Owens can play the run well and he is a corner. He got beat deep in the end zone but it was a perfect throw from Matt Stafford.

Eh, I like Grimes ok from what I've seen but really not keen on starting both he and Chris Houston together. Two 5'9 corners is just a bad idea. Chevis needs to start over either Houston or Grimes IMO.

I'm intrigued by Grimes' athleticism and the coaches love him so that's why I mentioned him here. Whether or not he'll be good, not sure, but he will definitely get his opportunity to start.

And i know hes been mentioned but Chaz Schilens will be a stud, he was coming into his own last year and will be a great weapon this year. This guy played great against Dallas and will be a very good player in this league IMO

I've been very critical of the Rams WR situation, and earlier this offseason called it the worst group of WR's i've ever seen (with the possible exception of the Titans group from the last few years).

With that said, I may have to eat crow on Laurent Robinson. He's running crisp routes, getting open, and catching everything. He looks much better suited to be a #1 WR than Donnie Avery, who to me would make a much better #2 guy/deep threat.

Robinson could be a sleeper this year.

Lawrence Sidbury, Falcons- Sidbury is a rookie speed rusher drafted out of Richmond. The former Spider had 2 sacks against the Rams and will play a lot in passing situations opposite John Abraham. He still looks a little slim but look for him to be our rush end of the future.

What happened with Jamaal Anderson nahste?

He just doesn't make any impact plays really. It's hard to even notice he's out there half the time. He plays hard, plays with good strength, but for some reason he just doesn't ever reach the QB. He has 2 career sacks in 2 full seasons of starting.

With Sidbury here now though I wouldn't be surprised to see us Anderson like Justin Tuck in NY and slide him inside on 3rd downs. That could be a nasty DL package.


EDIT- and W2B, I almost commented on Laurent Robinson's game in my thoughts post, but I held off because I figured you'd say "Bah, it's only preseason Robinson is garbage!", being the self deprecating Rams fan that you are. But I will definitely say I wish we still had him and I knew he had that ability all along. Just hope that he doesn't pull a glute every 3 weeks like he did with us, ha.

I'm hearing good things about him. If true, he's the eventual replacement for Flozell Adams at LT.

Also concerned about depth at OLB, so I'll be paying a lot of attention to rookies Victor Butler and Brandon Williams, who are converted DEs.

Williams tied for 4th in the nation in sacks last year. Butler tied for 6th. If they pan out, I'm giddy about our pass rush the next 5-7 years.

Torn ACL last night. Now I'm worried about depth at OLB.

Tampa Bay:

32-RB Kareem Huggins (Hofstra) UDFA

Kid is a worker and a talented player. Likely went undrafted due to his small-school status. He has been playing a lot in preseason and has a lot of film out there. Thus, it is unlikely that the Bucs can pass him through waivers to put him on the practice squad. Plus, placing him on the practice squad is a gamble anyway. A practice squad player can be claimed by another team at any time. The only catch is that they have to be placed on the active roster.

My guess is that they place Cadillac on PUP and keep Huggins on the roster till week six. Then, they have to figure out what to do with Cadillac. There are only a few options really: 1) outright release. 2) injury settlement. 3) place on active roster and release player at another position.

Troy Williamson, he's quickly become Garrard's favorite target this preseason. He has 7 catches for 221 yards so far in the first two games, including a 74 yard bomb to start the game against the Buccaneers. It'll be interesting how he looks against the Eagles defense Thursday when the starters see a big chunk of playing time. Hopefully he can actually be counted on as the number two receiver this year and can turn his career around. That's what Jimmy Smith did.
