Right. I don't think anyone would say that Calvin isn't the best receiver in the NFL right now, just as Moss was the best during his day. Calvin will deserve to be in that conversation as one of the best WRs when it's all said and done. He just beat one of Rice's single-season records.

I don't think CJ is better than Moss at the moment. I think he could definitely end up as the better player and he's probably just as physically talented as Moss.

BTW - Moss caught 5 passes for 62 yards, 12.4 YPC with a TD, making him the 3rd WR in yards, 2nd on the NE side plus he had more catches than any Giants player. On the first NE drive, the Giants game plan was to double teamed Moss, leaving Stallworth and Welker open to help march down the field. I guess having 1 of the 2 TDs the Pats scored is a non-factor to you also. Nevermind the Giants defense worked all week to keep Moss from being open, thats a non-factor alright.

Rice is the greatest, but everyone knows that if Moss played with Montana and Youngand Rice played with Culpepper, Kerry Collins, etc. then moss' numbers would look a lot like Rice's or better.

Moss will never be the goat, but he was one of the most feared receivers of all time.

That was what I orginially thought when I heard this. I even headed over to pro football reference to dig up some stats that would prove that exact point.

And then I saw Jerry Rice had 2300 yards at ages 39/40 playing for the Raiders. While Rice had an advantage with Montanta/Young vs Cpep, there is also an argument that Rice helped put those QB in the hall as well.

I don't disagree that Moss was more impactful (is that a word?), but if I had to win a game just once, I take Jerry Rice.

LOL at the person who said Calvin Johnson is threatening Jerry Rice's GOAT status. Thats quite a stretch. Johnson definitely has the regular season dominance part down, but he has a ways to go to match Rice's postseason performances against the best defenses. I think thats also what separates Rice from Moss...the postseason brilliance. I don't see a Jerry Rice team putting up a "41-donut" performance against an average Kerry Collins Giants team (but I do see Jerry Rice teams putting up a 49-3 performance against a Phil Simms Giants team!).

Moss isn't better than Rice, but too many people are calling Moss "the most talented WR in history" as if thats some kind of negative. Moss is near the top of every career receiving stat. He had the production, too.

To me, Moss is better than Calvin Johnson until proven otherwise. Johnson is a great player, but Moss was more explosive. Johnson is better in traffic, but whereas Johnson can turn a 5-yard pass into a 15 yard gain by running through people, Moss could turn a 5-yard pass into a 50 yard TD by running by people.
