I'm anything but a hater of the Lions. They are my second favorite team in the division, but it's arguably the best division in football. Nnamdi got his money with the Raiders, I just can't see him signing with a team that is still in the rebuilding stage. There are just much better options and proven winners where he could choose to sign. Why sign with a team that has a long shot at making the playoffs vs. a team that has proven to be a Superbowl contender?

People don't understand the parody that goes on in the NFL each year. The fucking Chiefs made the playoffs last year, a year where they had the 5th pick in the draft. With a 16 game schedule, the difference between 10-6 and 6-10 is so slim. If the Lions can get it done at the end of games, it's not impossible for them to sneak into the playoffs.

If, and this is a big IF Aso signs with the Lions- this team becomes the second best team in the division. Anytime you can arguably pair up the best defensive lineman with the best secondary player, you're going to give your team a shot at winning. And not to be forgotten, Delmas and Levy are two of the best up and coming defensive players in the league. I still don't think either player has tapped into their full potential.

Now the Lions have progressed quite a bit, showing they can overcome multiple key injuries and the past that haunts Detroit each and every season. They showed they can close out games and actually have a head coach that knows what the fuck he is doing.

On the opposite side of the ball? They're not doing to bad either. I know it's based on that word "potential" again. Once again- if Stafford can stay healthy for a full season, I see no reason why this team can't be hover around the top 10 in offense.

And why would a guy that is easily the best player out of this free agency class, who can choose any team he wants, pick a team that is referred to as "not impossible to sneak into the playoffs"? He's been a loser all his career and stated once his contract was voided that he wanted to be a part of a winning organization. I just don't see it.

That article essentially said that both sides have said they're interested in the other. Nowhere does it say either side has discussed a deal or really gone in depth. Besides the fact that if the Lions were to talk to Nnamdi it would be tampering, how many times will a report similar to this pop up? I can think of 32 teams that have interest in Nnamdi and I can think of 32 different ways Aso wouldn't mind getting rich.

I think Aso will be in play for a lot of teams with the new cap rules. The Lions could definitely be one of those teams, but the entire NFC East needs a corner as well.. not to mention other contending teams.
