I have no idea what what the happened. This was a six pragraph analysis and breakdown of what happens when promotions break away from their "home base" and do something different for TV. I looked at 70's & 80's WWF in Allentown PA, ECW at the ECW Arena, NWA in the Atlanta studios on TBS, and now ROH leaving Philly for the first time to tape in Louisville, and how it came off different on tv.

The bottom line, was TNA needs to get the fuck out of the Impact Zone every now and then. No way I'm typing all that shit up again.

TNA can't draw out of the iMPACT Zone...plus, iMPACT Zone tickets are free.

When TNA goes on the road, they tend to draw poorly. Sure, they have the occasional 5K show in NYC (I think it happened once). However, then they have 200 people show up in bum fuck Ohio at some random gymnasium house show they run.

They can't draw well after their initial debut in a town because nobody is going to pay good money to see a shitty, illogical product.

It's too bad even WWE treats their house shows as shit because it could be so much more...despite being house shows.

Its funny that they don't do well on house show tours, as I've heard a few times that its the absolute best you will see out of TNA. They actually let the guys work matches of decent length without all the stupid stipulations and finishes they use on a PPV.

They don't even need to draw that well to make it work. If they are careful about where they go and paper, they can probably get 1-2k in a lot of cities, especially through the south. If they don't make money on it, does it really matter? They aren't getting anything off of the Impact zone crowd (though I know costs are low there) and gettinga way from those shitty IZ fans had to be worth something.

They do "make money" and its because they go to these po dunk towns in the outskirts of the boondocks and work in these VFW Halls where they get cheap help from yocals. Then, they don't advertise, but get a few hundo, sell enough overpriced merch to pay their people, pocket a few bucks more, and its called a day.

At the end of the day and it's no secret that despite the fact that the pro wrestling audience has dwindled over the past decade.....people would cream their pants (everyone here included) if a legit alternate to WWE was out there on national television.

TNA has lost tons Bob Carter's money and they're leaving a lot of $$$ in the drain by doing their by the book, illogical, WWE rip off style.

They have the roster to do pro wrestling and not come off like they came to the Monday Night War about 10 years late.

Jeff Hardy, upon joining TNA, became their first major house show draw. Given that he was debuted heavily on the undercard, after an opening match of the 1/4/10 3-hour Live Impact with no hoopla and was mostly RVD’s sidekick at first, it’s hard to argue that this house show attendance wasn’t why he was pushed atop the card. Well, on 10/2010 at Bound for Glory, Hardy was turned heel. The question on the wrestling media’s mind was how this would affect house show attendance. The answer? Negatively. Number have, according the the Wrestling Observer, “declined significantly.”
