Just giving another example why it's better to listen to critics, than the communities at these big sites, because the community would have you believe that ''Super Troopers'' ranks up there with some of the greatest movies of all-time. My problem with the community, is that people have a hard time judging good and bad - I'm one of the very few people that I know, that can enjoy a bad movie, yet come right out and tell you that it fucking stinks. There's nothing wrong with enjoying bad movies - but to come out and recommend the bad movie to someone because it ''ROCKED,'' just shows how fucking retarded you are (Not you personally.)

I've never really seen super troopers so I cant comment on it, but you are a bit right about recommending stupid movies however, different people have different tastes and with comedy those preferences can make or break the movie.

The differences between community and critics is that community people will tell you a bias opinion of their favorite movies. Critics are people who because they have seen so many movies they feel their opinion is more important. However a lot of critics are very pretentious and only like certain types of movies, usually they gush over foreign films, dramas, artistic films, etc. They tend to forget that the majority of movie goers are not interested in these films, which is obvious to see by looking at the box office numbers.

I however am of the opinion that the only thing that is important is that the audience like the movie, and that is subjective to the viewer, I love Classic films, foreign films, independent films, but not beyond enjoying a good Horror movie, or action movie or comedy which for the most part rank near the bottom of most critics lists.

its all subjective even when you look at the so called objective aspects of film making, (acting, writing, directing) Many people will watch a David Lynch movie like Mulholland Dr. or Blue Velvet and scoff at all three of those objective attributes, other critics will disagree completely on those exact same things. So even those so called objective characteristics can be subjective to the viewer.

in the end its like this if a movie is good or bad its all subjective to the person whether you agree or not, because it is an opinion and opinions are like assholes everybody has got one and they all stink except for mine.
