You know ESPN doesn't hold onto stories whether it's a potential PED use or the rape of children in a college basketball program located on the east coast that were predominately featured in their college basketball coverage.

The point isn't that it was shoddy journalism from a source perspective. The issue is that with every other test it's policy to wait for the entire process to go through. This didn't happen here and Braun wasn't allowed that. Everyone jumped the gun on reporting this per policy, regardless if the sources were verified or corroborated

ESPN isn't stupid. They knew/know how this is supposed to work.

While I can agree with the sentiment that ESPN sucks, you'd have to be crazy to not report on this information if you had it. Are you saying that the news shouldn't have reported the murders OJ Simpson committed until after the trial?

It's not ESPN's job to wait for every last fact to come out and every last appeal to go through. They exist to give you the information as it comes to them and as they know it to be accurate. If they don't put the story out then TMZ, Yahoo, Deadspin, anygivennewspaper, etc. will be reporting the information instead. That's just how it works and it sucks for Ryan Braun that he failed a PED test.

They didn't know about Sandusky. They knew about Syracuse in 2003 and just put the story and evidence (including an omission from Fine's wife) away because they didn't feel it was a good enough story to run.
