Should I get the Modern Warfare 250-gig special edition 360?

I desperately want a bigger hard drive (I have the 20-gig) and I have an old 360.

I am considering spending the $429 and getting the new 360 with the 250-gig hard drive and Modern Warfare game.

My guess is the latest 360s are much more reliable, the hard drive will be awesome and I'll have Modern Warfare (though I really am not into those kinds of games).

And I will still have my old 360 as a backup (because we all know backups are a necessary evil with the 360).


Question: Are the new 360 disc drives quieter than the rocket ship I own?

well if you install to the HDD it is much quieter and you'll get other bonuses too.

i really don't think you need 250GB though, seems excessive for what you'll use it for..

idk about the special edition but i bought a new arcade model over the summer and figured it would be quieter then my old 360 that i had since near launch, but it was just as annoyingly loud. it really shouldnt be a problem though since you could install all your games.

I'm just waiting till they drop the prices on the hard drives. The 20 gig one is just pathetic for gaming now. Installing 1 game is just about half of the space on it.

Yeah. It drives me crazy too. I don't want to play off the discs. They're too damn loud.
The 120-gig hard drive is $159 in Canada.
That's way too pricey for just a stupid hard drive.
It's a shame the 360 didn't go the ps3 route where hard drives are concerned.

I bought a 120GB HDD for $120 off Amazon.ca....just checking now you can see them starting at just $100

You can install 13-15 games on a 120GB HDD and are you really playing that many games at once? Unlikely. The 250GB is overkill IMO.

However, if having a backup console is your goal then your decision is simple. Plus the addition of two controllers (you need 2 more controllers?) another headest (you need nother headset?)...seems like they could be additional unneccessary costs for you.

I'm in the same boat. I'm probably just going to get a newer hard drive since I'm worried about mine taking a dive soon.

The only bonus to living in canada is when our boxes ring we get them back in like 3 or 4 days so I'm just keeping mine till the xbox 720 comes out.

Just do the amazon.ca thing and get a 120Gig drive. You won't even need it. I don't even see why people need more then a 20GB but thats just me.

i have a few friends with the MW2 system and they says its a little quieter than the elite, but not much. The one guy said the system is extremely cooler than the other systems though.
