Guild Wars 2 is amazing. Ridiculously in depth and the best part is no monthly fees. Buy the game once for 50 bucks and it's free forever.

That was a good point for me buying the game.....I'm definitely not subscribing to two games. Do they have some sort of in-game currency you purchase with real money that gives some people an edge? Or is everyone on the same field?

Yeah you can buy gems for real currency and use them to buy weird stuff or increase your bank slots. I've never done it though. My favorite part of GW2 is the level sclaing. You automatically get nerfed down to a reasonable level for the zone you're in which means you can earn experience no matter what at any point in the game. No more being overpowered for a zone and wasting your time. The World vs World combat zone is awesome as well.

That is one thing I liked about the KOTOR games as opposed to TOR. Sounds like I'll need to check it out.

They aren't for everyone. I realize that I would give another one a chance, but I probably wouldn't end up playing them for long. SWTOR didn't really execute perfectly, but as far as story goes, they did a great job, at least with the two that I've played. It's right where it should be now with a free-to-play option to try and attract some hardcore Star Wars fans who aren't into MMO's.

Which character did you end up starting, and what level did you get up to? I will admit the opening planets are pretty bad, you've got to give it at least two planets before calling yourself off it.

I started as a Smuggler cause i'm a huge Han Solo mark. Maybe I'll dabble with it later but as of right now its very blah.
 
I played for a month a while back...the free month...didn't like it. I'm a huge Star Wars fan and MMO fan dating back to the original Everquest, but this game did nothing for me. I don't know if I could put a finger on one specific thing, I guess it was just a bunch of things. I actually enjoyed the much maligned Star Wars Galaxies more than I did this game.

It's all free now. I will say this, some of the worlds are tough to get through. It's more of a grind than it should be, and each side has that happen to them.
 
Who all still plays this? I played it for 2-3 months when it first came out then one day just stopped playing but I think i'm going to get back into it and start over from scratch.

I've got two characters on Jedi Covenant server, one level 42 Bounty Hunter and a level 50 Jedi Knight. I think I'm the only one who still plays from here at the moment.

Alright i'll make a character on that server when I re download the game. not sure what class to pick though, maybe Sith Warrior or Jedi Knight.

Jedi Knight has a very good story, the best is actually the Agent from what I hear. That might be my next one.

Yeah My First character I ever made was a Jedi Knight and I got pretty far and actually loved the story from what i remember for it. I might make me another one since I don't remember that much of the story. I heard that the Sith Inquistor's story was pretty good as well.
