Strikeforce: Carano vs Cyborg (August 15th)

This card had so much potential, but due to so much fuckery and replacements it was mediocre and a bit underwhelming.

Best fight of the night was Melendez/Ishida. The most 'competitive' fight of the night.

... you never... EVER just give up full mount. It is the most dominant position and can lead directly to massive damage via punches or if the person rolls over, you can go for the choke out. Either way, you NEVER give it up.

Gina had two bright spots all match and they were both on failed Cyborg takedowns where Gina ended up in dominant position. In both cases, she squandered it terribly.

I agree you never give it up...im just telling that may have been what Gina was thinking.

Didn't help that it looked like she was running away from Cyborg at one point either... and not like regrouping to another part of the cage; like she was going to hit the door and go to the dressing room right there.

I told yall.. Gina is too pretty for her own good. She isnt on a training and skill level like Cyborg is. That woman lives MMA.. Gina lives celebrity. She was simply out-matched. Noone should be surprised by the outcome.

Babalu getting aboslutely destroyed was easily the most surprising thing that happened tonight. Unfortunately Jesse Taylor didnt get it done and ruined my 5 fighter parlay.. but I was able to cash a parlay with the 4 remaining fights when I saw that Taylor lost. Jesse musta just fought one too many fights in such a short time.

Also, Gus Johnson is my boy but he's gotta stick to March Madness. He has no idea where he is.

Johnson is nothing short of awesome.He gets excited at the right times, and has a very good understanding of what he's talking about. He gets better and better each show.

He's 1,000 times better than Mike Goldberg, who is so bad, he's become a parody of himself with all of his out of context stupid statements he makes.

Not a bad night, nothing great, couple quick ones, knew Kyle was getting subbed, I joked that Babalu was going to get Zulu'd and he did

Mousasi is the real deal, Gil did what he had to do and worked Ishida

Gina had a chance off some Cyborg mistakes, she just couldnt handle the aggression, I'm with W2B, a rematch after another fight for Gina would be good

look for gina to be way more aggressive

her biggest mistake was like everyone, and most blatantly Frank Shamrock said, she shouldnt have given up that mount i mean she should have kept pushing, maybe she wanted to kick her some more but her first kick cris caught and gina paid

melendez vs ishida was the most eventful, was i the only one waiting for ishida to do some supercrazy takedown, like cung lee status??

If Gina is serious, she will be back strong, she hasnt fought in a year, this is just her first loss also

Strikeforce needs to get rid of the 'keys in the cage' or whatever they call it, just break down the fighters strengths and weaknesses, the moves they showed didnt really reflect what the fighters do

also, lol @ Babalu almost getting Michael Jackson'd on the runway

plus it was a short night, they should have shown the Taylor/Hieron fight

True, but I don't think it would have mattered, I doubt if she would have finished her from the mount and you could tell from the first punch that Cyborg delivered that Gina wouldn't be able to handle her power.

Agreed. Gus has done a great job especially considering hes new to the sport.

Mauro on the other hand.. seems to be regressing bad.

Put me in the group that doesnt think anything will change if Gina and Cyborg fight again.
