Strikeforce/M-1 Global on CBS: Fedor vs Rogers 11/7/2009

Only complaint I had about the show was not showing Rogers and Fedor entrances, but they had to put in all those commercials in because of the Shields/Mayhem fight

Without commercials, we dont get free fights, so I can live with it, but Fedor walking to the cage needed to be shown

Big Foot had Werdum in the first, he didnt have much left in the 3rd, but I agree that Werdum won the fight, would like to see Rogers vs Silva next

Mousasi looked to still be asleep as usual, Sok did pretty good, but it was just a matter of time before Mousasi finished him

Fedor is so damn explosive its just silly, now he has that 1 punch KO power that he didnt really have in pride, the right hand he finished it with was much crisper than how he normally throws it, plus he puts his entire body into every punch, Brett impressed me when he got back up from the left hand knock down and did some decent GnP and showed some sub escapes, Fedor is just on another level

I think it was great that Brett cut him and had a good showing, Fedor with the great finish was a perfect ending

to have that kind of speed and power after enduring a long 1st round where you get your nose broken and your being smothered by a huge mafugga was amazing. It was a short, quick power punch and Rogers got knocked into 2010. LOL @ rogers...he fought well but you saw how mad he was...he was mad because he didn't see that thunder right AT ALL. Dayum, Fedor is sick.
 
Rogers made good money for this fight but he saw mountains of $$$ fall down the well when he woke up.
 
Man, I can't even go on some of the MMA forums after a fight like this. All the stupid shit that people post just makes my brain hurt. I don't even bother with Sherdog anymore and even The UG has its share of "Fedor has been exposed as average" or "Rogers wins that fight 9 times out of 10" crap.

I'm probably preaching to the choir here, but Fedor's mystique isn't really that he's flawless. That he's the perfect fighter and has no weaknesses. He isn't. He has flaws, weaknesses, and there are ways to beat him. Yet it never happens. In a sport where anything can happen, where everyone has an off night or gets caught, it just doesn't happen with Fedor. People see "unstoppable" as meaning he cannot be hurt at all ever and that's obviously untrue... Unstoppable means you cannot finish him and he will find a way to win.

This is all true and well put, but keep in mind that a lot of people don't sound like this when they're talking about how good Fedor is. Instead the typical response is much the opposite, people constantly claim that he's unstoppable, unbeatable, and not human, which IMO is equally as bad as the people who call Fedor avg. He's definitely not avg, but he's definitely not unbeatable either.
 
Fedor is never rattled. Whether he's dancing on twigs against Fujita, on his back with a broken nose getting his face bashed in by Rogers or being slammed on his neck by Randleman, Fedor always manages to weather the storm and win a short time later.

he is not 'unbeatable' but he hasnt been beat

he is the most dynamic and exciting HW fighter since Mike Tyson, part of his appeal is he doesnt look the part, talk the part, etc...he just wins every time and even beats you in your strength

Everyone: Rogers will bash Fedor on his feet, he better take him down!

Result: Rogers dropped like a redwood on his feet

It was a fine stoppage. Sokoudjou was doing nothing but covering up and eating consecutive punches.

That's the knock on Sokoudjou,he wilts in situations like that.



Love Fedor's flying punches. The picture of him vs. Nog with the flying punch is EPIC.
 
Watched again. Fedor definitely won that first round. Outside of that flurry on the ground that Fedor quickly turned into a sub attempt Fedor was in control.

That and he knocked him back to Sams Club in the second.
