Hardly. John Schneider crushes the draft, and has every year he's been in Seattle. The Seahawks will lock up the key players and replenish roster positions with youth that is more cost affordable. No one in football has got more from less than the Seahawks.. the Super Bowl MVP was a 200 pound afterthought at USC and drafted in the 7th round. Doug Baldwin was undrafted. Jermaine Kearse was undrafted. Richard Sherman a 5th round pick. Byron Maxwell a 6th round pick. Kam Chancellor a 5th round pick.. and you can go on and on and on.

Earl Thomas isn't going anywhere. Richard Sherman isn't going anywhere. Russell Wilson isn't going anywhere. Russell Okung isn't going anywhere. The team has already locked up Chancellor and KJ Wright to long-term deals.

Long story short.. Seattle isn't going away. I won't say they will win multiple Super Bowls, but they will be in the hunt for the next several years.

So in retrospect, I think we have to say San Francisco was the 2nd best team in the NFL this year. And also that, no matter the rule changes, defence still wins championships.

its still a debatable unproven cliché and scientifically , mathematically untrue. Strong defense definitely helps but unless offense produces field position and points it doesn't matter how good your defense is. Especially the last few years where statistically sorry ass defensive teams have won SBs.

But when you go through the history of the league.. the teams with historically great defenses won championships. You can't say that for historically great offenses.. as only one team in the top 8 scoring offenses in NFL History won a championship (99' Rams).

no, but I can safely say the teams that had better defense and won Championships in the past had better offenses to begin with.

Free agency and parity have made it possible to win without having a complete team/unit lately/the last few years.

I never said they would become a bad team. They are going to lose part of that core though because of the salary cap.
