God that's awesome. I love the message to Mizzou Fans that prefer the Big Ten for academic reasons:

• 1909: Nebraska is accepted into the AAU.
• 2010: Nebraska becomes a member of the Big Ten conference.
• 2011: Nebraska is kicked out of the AAU by majority vote.

EDIT: And this map makes the geographic oddity of a midwest team in the Southeastern Conference a little more bearable.

Nebraska is now a member of the CIC, which includes all Big Ten schools and the University of Chicago. It's one of the most renowned academic groups in the world, and here's quick list of facts courtesy of wiki:

The notion that Nebraska is worse off academically by joining the Big Ten is both hilarious and wrong. They are going to benefit immensely in the coming years from the amount of exposure, cooperation, and money that they receive as part of their CIC membership.

psst... the idea that joining the big ten is bad for academics was moreso a joke than anything. Regardless, you guys got dooped by NU as their chancellor admitted they wouldn't have been accepted to the conference if they had not been an AAU member.

They were in the AAU when we agreed to add them though, and they will surely regain admission and become an even better school than they were in the first place thanks to the all of the money that the CIC will have flowing in to help with academics.

You also missed something else that their chancellor said in regards to the AAU as well though:

He explained that the university has been ranked lowest of all the AAU schools since 2000 -- largely because the AAU did not include the Nebraska system’s medical college when considering UNL’s research output, nor did it value the large amount of agriculture-related research published by university professors.

Nebraska not being in the AAU right now really isn't that big of a deal, they can rejoin admission in the future as an even better school, because, like I said they are going to benefit immensely from being in the CIC.

Yeah but I say just do it. I wouldn't mind adding two mid tier teams if we're sending Auburn east. I'd say Kentucky-Mizzou would be the inter directional, and Georgia would get A&M.

the Miami ESPN radio affiliate is reporting WVU to the SEC by this weekend... however, i think this is just a plant by the UF boosters who reportedly took a straw poll this weekend and decided they want WVU over anyone else...
