Yeah, but STEAM on PS3 is a huge deal. Doesn't that mean free mods and maps from the community?

Ahh no.

Steam on the PC is like PSN or Xbox Live sorta...

It holds all the games I've bought but also has a friends list part to it where you can see what their playing, chat to them and all that normal bs.

The big part of it for me is everything is discless and seamless. The online store function is huge.

Yes, but it's evolved to have some nice community features (friends list, IM, etc.). Steam also has a cloud feature that allows you to resume your save if you play your game on a different PC which I'd imagine will also extend to the PS3.

I wonder if Valve is going to release a patch for The Orange Box for PS3 after they introduce their Steam client. I know they've been working on a patch (for a long time now) to update the 360 version with TF2 maps and gametypes, but I'd at least like to see trophy integration and the ability to use the Steam cloud to transfer game saves around for HL2 and Portal.

It pisses me off cause I want a DS really bad because I never had a DS regular so not only will I get the 3DS games, by access to the regular DS games as well. I've read about so many great titles that i want to play, but there is no way I can justify buying a 3DS for $50 more then a Wii when i don't have a Wii yet.

no they won't, I play tf2 for steam and follow tf2 daily or so. there will be no update for ps3 or 360, the amount of data they would need to add new weapons and maps and hat would be insane. plus, there is no incentive to add them as they already have a cash cow in the pc market with steam.

Jesus christ I seriously wonder what some of you people are on.

The thing can apparantly produce graphics close to what the 360/PS3 can make and has the capability of doing 3D, all the while its small enough in your hand.

If your seriously whining about $50 for something like that then get out of gaming and take up a cheap hobby like knitting or something.

I stopped paying $200+ for a gaming machine once I paid for my PS3 Slim in full.

I remember when Super Nintendo games used to be upwards to $300 a pop.

You couldn't even play N64 games without that stupid ass Rumble Pack (which Sony did better with the Dual Shock) or that RAM pack that you had to buy to play Perfect Dark with.

So sorry if $250 for a "3-D" handheld is a bit much... especially if the damn thing is definitively going to give me headaches AND cause me to vomit if the beta reports are true.

LOL at "close to the 360/PS3". The last I heard they said it had graphics close to the Wii, which is closer to PS2.

We actually talked about this briefly on the podcast and I think we all agreed it is $50 too much so you might be in the minority. You and all the Japanese that are lining up for blocks to pre-order.
