PS3 doesn't stream half the shit I throw at it. And when it does play it, it takes forever to begin playing.

I guess gaming experts with one of the biggest gaming sites on the 'net are completely wrong then.

Offtopic sackrides the PS3 streaming capabilities, there are a lot of users that only use their PS3 for that purpose.

I don't personally know though, I haven't tried to stream anything but music.

Haven't used PlayOn, but WM Player honestly fails as a media server. Get TVersity. Trust me you won't have another problem streaming to the PS3

i have Win XP with WMP 11 and songs instantly play on my ps3. Its a matter of click then sound.

Videos are just as good. No time to get them to play....maybe a few seconds but nothing that is noticeable

i wonder if you have something setup wrong. I am wired to both my 360 and ps3 so idk if that has anything to do with it

I was listening to the 1Up podcast earlier while I was jogging and they mentioned that MS released a statement recently saying that the price drop of the Elite was not in retaliation of the PS3 drop. They said they had been thinking of the price drop for quite some time and it was merely a coincidence.

I know that is a good chunk of the 360's sales. That poll that Game Informer has in theor latest issue, the one that a lot of Xbots scoffed at, said that not only had 54% of the people polled had their 360 break on them but 30%+ (I think it was 36%) had just went out and purchased a new console. So not only does that show how retarded and ignorant some people are but that definitely has to factor into the 360's sales numbers. Hell, Cho proudly professed that if his 360 ever broke he would run right out to the store, buy a new one and then sell the repaired one on eBay once her got it back. I'm pretty sure he did that at least once. I wonder how many people think exactly like him?

But even without that the 360 would still be leading at this point. People buy cheaper systems. They always have and they always will. You will never convince the average consumer that one console is better than the other if the other console is cheaper. But now that they are both the same price things should get interesting.

Of course people will still probably eat up the whack ass 360 Arcade.

Sidenote: I always found it funny that some people say "The 360 sells the most because of the games. It's always about the games." Is it really? Or is it because it came out first and was much cheaper, regardless of what console actually offered you much more. I mean, what does the 360 really have as far as exclusive games? The only ones I can think of that are worth a damn are: Crackdown, Fable 2, Mass Effect, Forza, Gears of War, Halo and maybe Scene It? Plus they have Alan Wake on the way. The PS3 has: Killzone, Heavenly Sword, LBP, MGS4, MotorStorm, Ratchet & Clank, Resistance, inFamous, Warhawk, SOCOM and BUZZ and teh Singstar series. Plus they have MAG, Heavy Rain and a few others on the horizon (not counting The Agent from Rockstar-who knows when that will ever see the light of day). Sure games are a matter of opinion. I for one couldn't care less about RPG's so I couldn't give two shits about Fable and Mass Effect.

I'm sure I've missed a few games here and there but the bottom line is I don't know how anyone can use the "It's the games argument." There are more than enough great games that can only be found on PS3.

That is definitely true. But it also helps when/if Sony and the development companies put any sort of semblance of a marketing campaign behind some of those games. A few ads in gaming magazines don't cut it anymore.

exclusives dont really mean anything to me. I hated halo and fable 2 and didnt even play gears 2. I also didnt touch any of the ps3 exclusives.

the 360 was first and thats the real reason i jumped on it for next gen gaming. Now, years later i have all my friends on there. But aside from that its much more simple to use the 360 for gaming online. Plus the controller feels so much better. Playing around in the dashboard feels like another game. Its very robust and lively. I enjoy playing on the 360 cause its online setup is fantastic and its very simple to use

the ps3 is kind of a pain in the ass. Getting quality voice chat is like pulling teeth. The dashboard is very drab and boring. almost like a depressing rainy day. Anything related to online play or communicating with friends is just not worth dealing with. Sending text messages on there is a pain in the ass too. Offline gaming is all the same. Except the ps3 controller sucks. I hate how the analog sticks are setup.

bottom line for me is the 360 was reasonably priced and was available. PS3 came out a year later and was way over priced for a gaming system. If I was a new buyer today and compared the Elite to the 299 ps3, i am pretty sure i would choose the ps3. Free online gaming and blu ray....cmon, its no contest that the ps3 is a better value now.....

but unfortunately sony is a little late.....they remind me of the game devs who put out new DLC maps 2 months after everyone stopped playing......its like thanks, but we moved on already

Since the 360 launched in 2005, developers have had to work within a set of guidelines set down by Microsoft. One of those stipulated that games had to be running at a resolution of 1280x720 (720p). Not any more!

Black Rock Studio's (ATV, Split/Second) David Jefferies has, in his regular column on industry site Develop, revealed that Microsoft recently dropped the requirement, meaning games can - if they want/need to - be released in lower, standard definition resolutions.

Of course, some games on the 360 have already been released in sub-HD resolutions. Halo 3, for example, which Jeffereis says was thanks to Bungie, "who got it waived".

Wonder how much this decision has to do with recent findings revealing that less than half of Gears of Wars 2's player base owns a high definition television?
