I'm playing Knoll Down Golf Club and the 3 guys I'm playing with (Ghosts) are kicking my ass. I'm +11 and they are all under par.

Early Access Impressions
initial impressions are that the framerate sucks. 20 fps is unforgivable.
the announcer is horribly annoying. i hope they add in a 2nd person and give it some life.

gameplay is pretty soild. i have not had much trouble with the drivers and irons, but the putting is a little tricky to gauge speed/distance. But if you are not going to have the read options of a Tiger Woods game, then you better add in what would be seen on a real course. The markers option is great, but rsther pointless if you can not get any idea as to the distance.

the lack of any environment takes away from the immersion. when you get a pan view of the surrounding area and you are in the middle of a giant forest playing golf, i mean, that is weak. some surrounding landscape would be nice so you feel like you are at a course rather than something cut out of a terrain editor.

I think you will like it more as you play. I was iffy at first too and the more I play, the more I like it.

I understand about being out in the middle of nowhere, that is kinda lame.

The one problem I have is on chip, flop shots. Its hard to tell how far its going to go.


As for the announcer, I kinda like it. It reminds me of 'You don't know Jack' trivia game.

What are your system specs? I'm running at 40-50fps.

Do not play in Windowed mode, if you are. You will lag badly, that is true for pretty much any game.
Alt+Enter toggles it.

no windowed mode. getting 20 fps on the high settings. reading steam comments and that seems to be the norm

sidenote...nothign like golfing and seeing a flying axemaster ball coming at me...lol

I'm getting 40+ fps. I'm sure it will get better as it gets more optimized.


And what are you doing? Eating dinner? You've been stuck on the 2nd hole for awhile now. Don't worry, you will have no trouble beating me. I think this game is pretty hard since you get zero aids.

I like how I get a message saying you started to play and if I wanted to join. You can access the menu using the D-pad. Its kinda confusing though at first.

i shut it off while eating....it has a resume option which is probably why it says im on the 2nd still

F12 key puts you into free camera mode and you can check your putt from different angles.

Of course, you'll need to change your Steam screenshot key if its F12

the framrate issue is a bigtime concern. not to mention the fact that its heating my shit over 60 - no game pushes my system over 55. im a little concerned about melting my card...my fans never seen this much action before. fuck

loving the gameplay though. very tough challenge - i shot even on the front 9, but +7 on the back 9 on the one with the mountain in the background.

btw, i thinkk the graphics look real nice. the water and shit just looks really realistic

I don't have a temp monitor my fans are running. I'm pretty steady at 45-50fps though. I'm glad I sent back the 760 and got the 770 4GB card.


What is the GPU monitor you're using? I'd like to see what my temps are. My CPU temp is 32C



You have to watch all of this. Maybe I'm tired but my eyes are watering.

I'm running at 65-70C but everything I see for my card says anything under 85 is fine.

I'm sure my flight sims push it harder than this game does.

I put in some TW and although it has more features, I like this game better. It is SO beautiful !

Once this game is finished, it will be a very good game.

I cannot wait to see what some people come up with as far as courses. Sure, there are some quickly designed courses but I'm talking about the ones that have the markers, buildings, etc. That will be some good stuff.

But man, i have never had so much of a challenge judging speed and break on a green. plus not choking with my stick motion....lol

It's $30 now on PC, I'm not sure if that is the final price. I am guessing that the final product is six months down the road.

I suck at putting. If its downhill or on a steep angle left or right, I'm in trouble.


Have you played Pinehurst yet (Official course). That 17th hole is brutal if you don't make that hill.

im not sure its review worthy. its really a bare bones game. its designed to showcase the gameplay on the course, and the course designer. i have given the designer very little time.

but, if you want a review and it helps the site i know garrett will write it up
