Turkish club Fenerbahce have signed striker Dirk Kuyt from Liverpool. The Netherlands forward has agreed a three-year contract, after spending six years on Merseyside.

The 31-year-old signed for the Reds in 2006 from Feyenoord and went on to make over 250 appearances, scoring 71 goals.

"Everyone would like to wish Dirk all the very best for the future and thank him for his contribution to the club," said a Liverpool statement on their website.

So apparently United have made asked about to Newcastle and Everton about Tiote and Baines. They both said 20 mil for each player. YIKES!!!!

Good biz from both teams, and I suspect thats the end of the interest in those players. Lol, but no fucking way.

Carr can go find us another destroyer mid, but finding another cultured mid like Cabaye at £5 mil? Much harder

Dirk Kuyt will be leaving Liverpool. I'm sure my step-father will be sad to see him go. He's a life-long Liverpool fan (he's from there) and Kuyt was one of his favorite players on the squad.

I think everyone knows how desperate United are for a destroyer too which is part of the problem. Tiote is damn good at what he does. But not for 20 mil.

They won't get a quality, proven defensive mid for that much less. Yann M'Vila would probably cost more, and while M'Vila seems to have a higher ceiling, Tiote is proven in the Prem already. Most of the "bargain" buys for that kind of player come with some element of risk, and would still probably cost in the area of 8-15m.

Looks like City is hoping to wrap-up talks for Javier Martinez before this Friday.

Ok, as reported this morning in one of the papers, hopefully this one is true as he is a quality player:

Manchester City will begin their summer spending with a VSD£25million offer for VSDAthletic Bilbao defender Javier Martinez.

After missing out on Chelsea-bound £32m VSDBelgian winger Eden VSDHazard, the Premier League champions are resolved not to lose the race for Martinez.

The 23-year-old VSDexcelled as Athletic reached the Europa League Final last season and will be part of the Spain squad VSDdefending their European crown.

Manchester United and Barcelona have also been tracking Martinez, but Roberto Mancini wants a top-class defensive VSDrecruit after being priced out of a move for AC VSDMilan’s Thiago Silva.

Mancini was told it would cost City £25m plus Pablo Zabaleta to prise the Brazilian away from the Italians when he VSDvisited the Milan training ground last week.

That was too expensive even for City, who have now set their sights on Martinez. City’s hopes of completing the deal VSDbefore Euro 2012 kicks off on Friday is optimistic, although they did sign David Silva two years ago during Spain’s triumphant World Cup campaign.

The Blues will also have to be patient in their bid to land Robin van Persie as the Arsenal ace will not decide about his future until after the Euros

I dont want to start a shit storm by making it sound like I underrate him. I think he is a very good player. And honestly, the picture perfect destroyer type United need since Fletcher is sick as sick can be. And youre 1000% correct about todays market thats fucked.

I guess I think the the only part I disagree with is him being valued at 20 mil. They got him for 3.5. On the cheap side IMO. With his seasons in the Prem, having showed the goods, Id say he at the very least tripled his value. I would rate him between 12 and 16 million. I just think 20 is a bit high. Im sure we'll wind up agreeing to disagree, and at the end of the day I still think he is a good player.

Jay Rodriguez signed for Southampton for 7 mil. Should be a good player. He is a good kid for sure. Now, the Saints have to make sure they stay up.

I read this morning that Benzema said that Man Utd have attempted to acquire him over the last 3-4 seasons. However, that was just Benzema stating that they had shown interest. He went on to say that he is happy with Real Madrid.

Madrid have given everything to Benzema, to the point that they have ostracized Gonzalo Higuain to the point he is likely leaving. And frankly, I think that would be an even better signing for City. Higuain seems to have little ego, works his ass off, is a fantastic finisher and just seems like an all around great guy.

I just saw yesterday that Benzema is likely to be offered to City later this summer and that City are working on a possible player-for-player swap. Bayern Munich takes Dzeko, and cash, and City gets Thomas Muller. WOW.
