Yeah, Charlie Batch would've done wonders. Pryor did not lose all credibility when he went to Ohio State... hell he went to Ohio State to learn how to become an NFL quarterback, something he wouldn't of learned at Pittsburgh, nor at Penn State.

The funny thing is, Ohio State looks the same every year. Even when they have a mobile QB they can't seem to understand what to do with him and can't seem to find ways to utilize just how athletic he is.

Are you serious? Tressel has ran a different offense with each quarterback he's had. With Krenzel he took advantage of his athletic ability quite often albiet out of a more traditional i-formation type of offense, and tOSU ran the option out of the spread frequently during Troy Smith's first year as a starter in '05, and then when Smith became a better passer they began to pass more.

With Boeckman he ran a traditional NFL-style offense to suit the needs of a protypical drop-back passer, and now with Pryor he is running a mold of them.

Pryor is good folks, he's really good. He's a cocky and arrogant son of a bitch, but what #1 High School prospect isn't? Ohio State doesn't have the coaching IMO and Pryor is suffering from it. #1 in the Navy game, you don't let your Sophomore QB tell you that we're going for it when you are winning by a decent margin and this could very well end any and all hope of it being close. Instead, you give Navy momentum and then they drive the ball down your throats cause you panicked. Luckily for you Buckeye fans, an athlete made a play and kept Ohio State out of Upset U.

Right.... 4th and inches, with the Ohio State offensive line going against the Navy defensive line, and you want to kick the FG? I go for it every single time, and I'm damn proud that Tressel did. The play-call was a poor choice (I still don't get how we don't run a QB sneak), but I agree with Tressel's decision.

Sidenote - Don't have the coaches? Jim Tressel has five national championships. He made Craig Krenzel into a servicable quarterback, and turned Troy Smith from an athlete into a Heisman Trophy winner who nearly won the starting job in Baltimore before getting sick last year. Jim Bollman, as embattled as he is among Buckeye fans, has had to turn down NFL teams over the years. Darrell Hazell has turned out three first round picks, a second round pick, and numerous other NFL draft picks in his four years as the receivers coach. And don't even get me started on running backs, its Ohio State.

I hate to agree with you on something involving putting down Penn State, but I have to here. Look at our last few quarterbacks. I think Clark will make a team after the season, but before him? Morelli was an absolute bust and M-Rob -despite being amazing in his senior year - was shuffled between QB and WR during his time in State College and is now a RB. Our most successful quarterback who ever played in the NFL has been Kerry Collins. Although being a huge Titans fan, that's nothing to brag about.

You wouldn't believe how bad they are on this local sports board I used to post on. They'd try to find flaws in every Penn State success and would talk up Pitt non-stop.

Ohio and Bowling Green - just remember those losses over the last few years. You might be looking good now, but that defense is not what it was hyped up to be. No way you're winning the Big East this year.

When the Ravens broke camp Troy Smith was the starting QB... and was scheduled to start but he got a rare case of tonselitos that fewer than 50 people have gotten in the past decade or something along those lines, and lost 30 pounds and any chance of playing his way in front of Flacco.

Maybe you don't remember, but I'll refresh for you: Troy Smith was the last player signed in his class, and was signed as an athlete. He returned kicks and played receiver his freshman and redshirt freshman years... and then when he started working with the QB's, he turned into a Heisman winner.

Troy struggled against Texas in '05.. and he struggled against Penn State in '05. The light-bulb really didn't come on for him until after that Penn State game, which was when that '05 team turned into a superpower. That 2005 season also happened to be his fourth year in the program.

People are so quick to compare Pryor to Vince Young, yet they are also quick to disregard the fact that VY was a liability as a passer until he was a fourth year junior, the best example of that being the shutout against Oklahoma in 2004. Pryor is still young... and he has shown flashes of his potential throughout his career (Those two perfect passes right into the hole in the coverage against USC as an example), but I think people were expecting way too much from a kid that turned 19 years old last week and that includes me.

What QB that has played at Ohio State made a difference in the NFL in the last 10 years? Why the hell would Pryor go there then? Someone said because of the offense they run... If he wanted to go somewhere that would run a successful pro offense it wouldn't have been Ohio State. So that makes your first argument null and void.

Secondly you say they have the coaches? If that's the case how come they've literally lost to all competition in the last 2-3 years? They might have won a lot of games, but they can't seem to beat anyone that is any good. For example, Penn State, USC, etc. 5 National Championships blah blah blah, we're talking present day. Pryor hasn't developed at all since being at Ohio State and a good coach is something that would have at least worked on footwork or something over the summer instead of saying hey you're a great player lets go win some games. He has actually looked worse with his footwork this year.

Third, we'll go into the fact that you talked shit on Pitt and said I was a "bitter" fan. When the hell did I say anything about Pitt in that statement except at the end? Not one statement. You're the bitter Ohio State fan who is trying to defend a player that has proven nothing since being at Ohio State. And to say let me know when your team is relevant? When I say something about them, I'll let you know that. I know Pitt football isn't great, hell I know they aren't even good. Do I still cheer them on, hell yeah because I'm not a fucking front runner. And it does qualify laying an egg because you were outcoached and out played in the 4th quarter when it mattered. To be honest, as much as I don't like Ohio State I was hoping they would get a win because I hate USC that much more. Since I know DC and I've seen just how good he really is I think he will make a team. Second off once again another player putting down Pitt when I said NOTHING about Pitt in that statement. I'm guessing you missed a dominating win over Texas in Austin, against a team that returned virtually the entire squad from a national title minus Vince Young (And a team that Colt McCoy nearly led to a national title as a frosh). I'm guessing you missed a win over #2 ranked Michigan. I'm guessing you missed a dominating 37-17 win over Penn State in Happy Valley with 9 new starters on offense. And I'm also guessing you missed recent games against Texas where the Buckeyes out-played and out-coached the Trojans and the Longhorns but simply didn't have solid enough quarterback play to pull out the win.

Sure, we had our struggles. We got out-played and Tressel got butt-fucked on national teleivison against the Gators in '06 and the Trojans in '08, and then simply got beat by the better team against LSU. Ohio State is 2-1 against Penn State in the last 3 years so I don't get where your going with this...

Pryor hasn't improved at all? Those strikes to Posey, Sanzenbacher, and Saine don't happen last year. That perfect footwork on the strike to Sanzo doesn't happen last year. He had excellent footwork against Navy in week 1 outside of one slip up where he threw a pick because he didn't set his feet.

Seriously, I don't know where your getting this stuff. He struggled against what Pete Carroll called "his fastest defense ever", color me not worried about a guy who turned 19 last week. People (and this includes me) were expecting way too much of him and I think its important to realize that he's not going to become a superstar overnight, it took Troy Smith almost half-way through his fourth year in the program to do that, and the same for Vince Young and Pryor is ahead of both of them in his development.

All Terrelle Pryor has done at Ohio State is go 9-2 as a starter, win the Big Ten freshman of the year award, and be the first ever true freshman to ever lead the Big Ten in passing efficiency. Yeah, he really has done nothing in his career, especially considering he took the starting job away from a guy that was 1st-team All-Big ten the year before he got there.

LOL @ me being a front runner. I've been a Buckeye fan through it all... I was 3 years old and have the memory of my dad screaming as Biakabatuka ran for 313 yards on us burned into my memory.. I remember watching Joe Germaine lead us down the field in the Rose Bowl.. I was there when we lost the hopes of a national title in '98 to Michigan State... I grew up during the Cooper years, and I was at the Outback Bowl when he coached his last game. I went to the National title game in 2002, and I've been to numerous Buckeye games over the years. So don't lecture me on that shit.

I don't try to cover up what my team has done wrong. I used to be a homer in the past but I'm willing to recognize when my team fucks up and what they fuck up.

Sidenote - If Ohio State played Cincy, tOSU would dominate in the trenches... Cincy has the skill position talent and coaching to make it a good game but Ohio State's dline dominated the best oline in the country (USC) and the offensive line looked great at times.
