My mini-conspiracy is that "Chelsea" decided to give Torres these last two games as his last shot, and that if he didn't improve they would buy a striker tomorrow and he would be demoted. (Only possible reason to not start Ba one of the two.) He was decent today but I can still hope.

They still see Courtois as the future GK in 2-3 seasons and don't want to interrupt his spell with Athletico (I'm assuming they continue to extend it), but if they had to play a backup keeper more often they'd rather have the byproduct of developing a young one that also happens to be as good as our current backup already.

Butland is viewed as England's brightest GK prospect. If you're going to handle Courtois in the right way (i.e. let him get games on loan), why bring in Butland to sit on the bench?

And if Courtois is still the future, what happens to Butland? You then have a young keeper who doesn't play much for 2 years who ends up sitting behind Courtois when he finally comes back.

Although...maybe Chelsea let Athletico keep Courtois in a part exhange for Falcao...

If that were the case, then I'd understand the interest

QPR is screwed if they go down. Samba on £100k? Really? That will be sustainable. I assume they have release clauses if they go down, but not many clubs can afford the wages QPR is offering.

Harry is also talking up David Bentley and Jermaine Jenas, just who I want in a relegation fight.

And, "to make room" in his apparently thin squad, talented midfielder Alessandro Faurlin has been sent on loan to Palermo. One of the few who got Hoops promoted dumped so Harry can get his boyz.

If they go down, Harry will have done another Portsmouth. Can't imagine Fernandes staying interested with this albatross around his neck
